Dream on. There will be NO repeat of 1968.

Rush’s “theory” is a hypothetical. He’s not looking at the obvious. Dims want this election and will vote straight ticket no matter which of the two remains. To understand how Dims vote look no further than the re-election of Marion Berry. When your party willingly votes for a convicted crack head you pretty much get a clear picture as to where your party head is at. They are sitting on it!! No one is going to be handing the Republicans a free vote. Not even pissed off Clintonites if she doesn’t get the nom.

Rush’s thesis is that the Republicans won’t lay a glove on Obama out of fear of the race card. He wants the Dem candidates to continue to beat each other up through the end of August, doing the dirty work of laying out all the sleaze, incompetence and corruption. Then Republicans can play back the issues that were exposed and raised by the Dems.

He also points out that the Republicans, once Obama is the nominee, will be put in the position (either by the media or by their own fears) of being unable to lay a glove on Obama without being called racist. Clinton, if she stays in, will continue to hammer Obama in a way that the Republicans will not be able to do...the media will portray Republicans as nasty, racist, etc, etc,

It just won’t matter. In the end whoever the dim nominee is they will rally and support that nominee. Keeping a Clinton in this race, and this particular Clinton, is a very scary game. She will take that nomination by hook or crook and those initially pissed that she got the nomination will still rally and come out and vote for her. They won’t cross over and vote MAC. They are too close to the office to hand it over. More than likely a deal will be struck and Clinton will walk out arm and arm with Obie as her VP choice.

Has nothing to do with who is harder to beat ~ the objective is to FORCE the Democrats to select their candidate at the convention. Violence can be expected.

Not at all. That's when the superdelegates broker a Clinton/Obama ticket that unites the party.

If Hillary had been knocked out tonight her and Bill would have been better enough to start covertly helping McCain.

Now, her and Obama will probably be teaming up up to beat him.

I totally agree with you. This is going to be a HUGE victory for the Dims either way their nomination goes. The thought of another Clinton in that office makes me want to vomit.

Not likely.

Best bet at the moment is to wait for the votes to be counted in Texas.

The party is more dominated by the leftwingtards now than in 68. Besides, in 68 those guys were on the outside looking in. This time they’ll be in there with everybody else.

I’ll grant you that, but I just think that the deck is too heavily stacked against McCain.

Yep, the Rats will vote for the true Rat candidate and Conservatives will vote none of the above. Bob Dole will have more EV from 1996 than McDingle-Berry in 2008.

I worry about the Clinton machine pulling massive cheating to win key states in a general. I’m positive that they would do this. That’s why I want her out NOW.

I think they vote McCain over Obama because even though they are Democrats, they don’t want to cut and run from Iraq. Remember, not all in the military are Republicans.

DC is 60% black. Blacks vote 9 to 1 for Democrats. In the Democratic primary, they are voting 9 to 1 for Obama. The nation is only 12% black.
