Not My Shower: Breaking Biological Barriers
Breakpoint with Chuck Colson ^ | 3/5/2008 | Chuck Colson

Posted on 03/05/2008 10:19:26 AM PST by Mr. Silverback

Mary Ann Andree was drying her hair in the Rio Sport and Health Club in Gaithersburg, Maryland, last month when the door to the women’s locker room suddenly opened. In came a man, wearing a blue ruffled skirt and make-up.

As Andree later told reporters, “I was very upset. There is a lot he could have seen.” Andree is far from alone. A lot of other women in Montgomery County, Maryland, are upset over a new law that demands co-ed locker rooms and bathrooms in all public accommodations.

Montgomery County, adjacent to Washington, D.C., passed the law last November to accommodate “transgendered people”—that is, men who perceive themselves to be women, and women who perceive themselves to be men. The law adds gender identity to the list of protected classes to the Montgomery County Code banning discrimination.

In effect, it means men will have full access to a woman’s restroom and locker room. A woman taking a shower after her aerobics class might look up to find a man turning on the shower next to hers. A little girl using a movie theater restroom will now have to worry that a strange man might walk in.

Michelle Turner, who leads a citizens group opposing the law, says, “Any biological male who is willing to wear a dress and who is feeling transgendered at that particular moment can enter the ladies room or locker room.”

And what is to stop non-transgendered men from entering the ladies’ room? Nothing. A child molester or rapist could put on a dress and go right in. So could pornographists. It is an appalling, shocking law. And get this: There is no exemption for religious schools, book stores, churches, and daycares. As Turner notes, “The act will use the force of law to make these organizations accept transgenders, transvestites, and cross-dressers as employees.”

The American Psychiatric Association classifies gender identity disorder as a mental disorder. Supporters of the Montgomery County law refuse to accept this, and they have decided that you and I are not going to be allowed to accept it, either. Dana Beyer, a “transgendered” person employed by the Montgomery County Council, says that if you believe that XY chromosomes and male genitalia make someone male, you are a bigot.

In effect, transgendered persons are demanding that Montgomery County erase the distinctions between males and females. Make no mistake: This is not about the need for co-ed bathrooms. This law is simply being used to normalize gender identity disorder—much in the same way the gay lobby uses laws to normalize homosexuality.

Montgomery County officials passed this law despite the fact that citizens opposed it by an eight-to-one margin. The good news is that concerned citizens have gathered enough signatures to put the issue on the November ballot.

But Montgomery County is not the only jurisdiction passing laws like these. Check out what your own local leaders are doing to protect your privacy rights. And parents, make sure your kids know the difference between the Christian view of sexuality and that being propagated by those who think they ought to be allowed to choose their gender and their bathroom.

I have a transgendered person in my family, and I want to first acknowledge that people with this disorder go through a great amount of mental anguish and always have my sympathy. That said, basically the whole point of this law is to ensure that people who have a certain mental issue are comfortable in their surroundings at all times. Well, what if we extended that to other mental issues? Some people believe that the CIA is beaming mind control waves at them which can be stopped by metal shielding. Should the walls of all public areas be overlayed with tin foil so they willl feel comfortable?

Be ready, because if we don't stop this the day is coming when they will tell you your church is illegal unless they are willing to hire transgendered and openly gay ministry staff. If revival doesn't come, persecution will. Read up on Richard Wurmbrand and be ready to follow his path.

This was the Founder's quote of the day in my inbox this morning:

"A general dissolution of principles and manners will more surely overthrow the liberties of America than the whole force of the common enemy. While the people are virtuous they cannot be subdued; but when once they lose their virtue then will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external or internal invader."

-- Samuel Adams (letter to James Warren, 12 February 1779)

“Who’s reality is right and ....does it matter?” - They Might Be Giants

George C. Scott lives as Sherlock Holmes. The title was from Don Quixote who tilted at windmills because “they might be giants”. But they’re not bleeping giants are they?

Why does a transgendered male have to wear a dress to go into a woman’s locker room? Aren’t woman allowed to wear gym shorts and t-shirts?

Come November, it should just be this issue on the ballot.

If all those "Montgomery County officials" aren't kicked out of office, then it means eight-out-of-nine Montgomery County residents are too stupid to vote.

How do you tell a transgendered person from a Peeping Tom? Do they wear Scarlet T’s?

“...they will tell you your church is illegal unless they are willing to hire transgendered and openly gay ministry staff.”

Is something similar not already happening in this country? I understand that, in certain places, Catholic hospitals (pro-life) have been istructed to make provisions for abortion facilities.

I don’t mean to sound like an arsehole, but when when start getting raped, their opinions on things like this will change, and you’ll see them marching in the streets.

basically the whole point of this law is to ensure that people who have a certain mental issue are comfortable in their surroundings at all times.

How about the people without those mental issues feeling comfortable in their surroundings? Does my daughter need to be exposed to freaks and perverts during her most private moments? Does she need to diagnose someone's mental state before reacting? Can any man in an Easter bonnet and wig walk in to coed showers unchallenged now?

This is outrageous. The only way this will end is in "hate crimes" when people try to take back reality from the ACLU and the rest of teh freaks.

So, teenagers don't need to peer through a plumbing hole into the girls shower anymore. Just put on a dress and walk in. If anyone says anything, just claim to be a woman locked in a mans body.

Something tells me there will be a lot of dirty old men buying dresses and mascara.

I don’t see where this idiotic law even requires a dress. Seems to me it says that anyone who “is feeling transgendered at the moment” is entitled to go into any restroom or locker room they like, and since there is clearly no reliable test for whether someone who SAYS they’re feeling this way actually is, the law is eliminating any legal distinctions between sexes for this purpose.

There are a lot of people who genuinely are anatomically and/or genetically transgendered, and they deserve every reasonable measure of support that individual members of a free society can muster. But the law needs to deal with this on an individual basis, with legitimate medical grounds for classifying someone as one or the other or a genuine hybrid.

"people who have a certain mental issue are comfortable in their surroundings at all times."

Why does their comfort supersede the comfort of anyone else? You refer to it as a mental issue. But they claim they are normal. Of course, most folks with mental issues deny they have any issues.

That is what she (assuming she is a liberal like the majority of Montgomery County - it looks like the land of enacted Obama/Hillary public policie) gets for voting for the liberals in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Tell her not to fret...Montgomery County has got it under control. They know what is best for the public (no santa claus, no smoking in residences, no trans fat, no graduations at church facilities, no praying on school premises, homo sex education, and etc.) .

Like in several other Montgomery County public locations, there is probably a "gang hot line" (MS13 gang violence is a big issue) phone that can be utilized in case of a "transgendered" locker room emergency.

Anyways...liberals have been telling us for years that there is no difference between the sexes...what is the big deal?

I think we should feel sympathy for these people. But facts are facts. Whatever a person may “feel,” and whatever operations they may have performed upon themselves, they will remain the same sex they were born with.

It’s a sad business, but it helps no one to pretend that reality can be changed or adjusted to fit your preferences.

And the politicians who use these people for their political advantage are beyond disgusting.
