An open letter to Jim Robinson: Consider a general amnesty for all the banned Rudy supporters....
o

Dear Jim..OK, the GOP now has its candidate. McCain isn't the first choice of the majority of us on FR, and even now, there are spirited, yet for the most part, civil exchanges on the threads as to whether or not some will support the GOP nominee. One of the more unfortunate, and unpleasant events on FR was the mass banishment and/or leaving of a great many Freepers who were supporters of Rudy Guliani for the nomination. I'm posting this to see if you'd be open to the idea of inviting them to return, and see how others might feel about this.

I still remember one thread where a Ruudybot was telling us how wonderful NYC’s gun control laws were. And yet, they insisted that he’s a conservative. Those people were simply on the wrong website.

Remember how there was NO WAY that the Beast would’t win the ‘Rat nomination?

May be so. Are you saying that money means we sacrifice our principles?. Maybe those that are gone could send their bucks to McCain.

Apparently, moderates, Hispanics and democrats are not opening their wallets.

You know, maybe it could be that the last few months many conservatives have gotten tied of posting here and being insulted by liberal Republicans.

When people are turned off, they tend to not contribute figuring that they are no longer going to hang around.

What you say sounds like another threat.

“I’ve had enough of the anti-McCain clowns and their tired, self-absorbed rantings.”

I believe that’s what one would call ***OUR RIGHT OF OPINION*** Free country and all of that.

As I said, a lot of the Rooty Rooters were pushing liberalism long before Rooty’s campaign started. I think a lot of them were excited to see a liberal RINO running for president.

I would like a lot of FR to return to the way it once was. But the hyenas had their way last April and things changed here.

Agreed. It will never be the same. On the bright side, at least the days of Dogged assertions that Duncan Hunter is going to sweep the thing including wild speculations based on Intrade and inane "Huntercles" graphics are over.

Then they should be happy with McCain, don't you think?

Weird. I supported Rudy and I am still here. Maybe it was something else they did.

It was, you should read that thread if you have a few days. :)

“I think a lot of them were excited to see a liberal RINO running for president.”

They should be thrilled now.

>> My family was considering an intervention when I was trying to keep up with that thread.

I can’t even imagine! Longest I’ve held in was the debate threads (~1,800 IIRC).

I’m afraid Mrs. Tick would skip the intervention, and proceed directly to strangling me.

I’d bet that they are. After all, their ultimate aim is the political destruction of conservatism and conservatives.
