WASHINGTON -- A largely unreported meeting held at the State Department discussed integration of the U.S., Mexico and Canada in concert with a move toward a transatlantic union, linking a North American community with the European Union.

The meeting was held Monday under the auspices of the Advisory Committee on International Economic Policy, or ACIEP. WND obtained press credentials and attended as an observer. The meeting was held under "Chatham House" rules that prohibit reporters from attributing specific comments to individual participants.

The State Department website noted the meeting was opened by Assistant Secretary of State for Economic, Energy and Business Affairs Daniel S. Sullivan and ACIEP Chairman Michael Gadbaw, vice president and senior counsel for General Electric's International Law & Policy group since December 1990.

WND observed about 25 ACIEP members, including U.S. corporations involved in international trade, prominent U.S. business trade groups, law firms involved with international business law, international investment firms and other international trade consultants.

No members of Congress attended the meeting.

The agenda for the ACIEP meeting was not published, and State Department officials in attendance could not give WND permission under Chatham House rules to publish the agenda.

I don't, and you probably should't either.

You seem to be ready and willing to lump all conspiracies together as if they all were equally unfounded rumors.

I only pay attention to the ones that are real.

I don't lump all conspiracies together, actually. I try to separate them out believability . . . meaning that I am less inclined to believe something is an element of a conspiracy because the State Dept. used a (relatively) obscure rule in the interests of diplomacy, as opposed to believing that something is an element of a conspiracy by looking at the element itself.

And I do come down hard on Prof. Corsi, because he's intelligent enough to make the distinction. He just refuses to do so because he's in the conspiracy industry. Basically, when I read that George W. Bush has a secret plan to erase our national border by 2010, I like to see why the author thinks so, instead of sifting through BS of no probative value.

In this case, Corsi does a decent job of reporting what was said at the conference, but the thing about the Chatham Rule is carnival-barker material.

If is the operative word and that is based on your unsubstantiated perception. Again, as I stated in post #27, cite your sources that refute what Corsi's reporting.

It's no secret. "free traders" open abhor borders as they are a 'barrier to trade'.

It's all about the supply chain, just as the executives in the article state. Can't stop the supply chain for an inspection, that just interferes with the transnationals. Little people(citizens) get national id's and open borders, but to do anything a transnational opposes is a cardinal sin to our corrupt politicians and their fascist relationships with global corporations.

Oh and by the way, thank goodness Jeb Bush is heading that ethanol commission promoting investment in Brazilian sugar. It sure has help Bill Clinton's portfolio as he invests in slave labor on the sugar plantations down there. No wonder citizens don't see an iota of difference between the parties, they are out scratching each others backs at great cost to our sovereignty and our taxpayers.

I too am skeptical of the extent of such a union. Maybe a feel-good trade and defense agreement, but not an actual union.

Of course, if the US economy and the dollar continue worsening into uncharted territory, it might actually start to look tempting to Those-Who-Know-More-Than-We-Do to combine the economies and adopt the Amero.

Then we can continue to use even more newly-documented, minimum-wage labor from Mexico, and we'd have Monday Night Hockey, eh? And then if China tries to call in its debts and bankrupt the US, we can say, "Oh yeah? Well just try it buddy. Because now you're dealing with the wealth and military might of Mexico and Canada too."

That'll scare em.

That's assuming they aren't creating the fall of the dollar. It is also a possibility government officials are supporting the dollar's collapse as an excuse to convince people the Amero will be a viable alternative as a prelude to the NAU.

Do you understand how to use the track-back feature? Just curious. If you did, then you'd know that I have stated that Corsi went on and on for months about an allegedly secret list of participants in another conference, then published the list in its original form in his book.

So the question is, how long did Corsi have a document in his possession while he was claiming its contents were "secret?"

I don't think we can refer to this plan as "secret" as it is in the public sphere.

Not widely publicized, of course, but generally available.

And it is not just President Bush, either.

Which book and chart are you speaking of? Are you referring to his book, 'The Late Great U.S.A.: The Coming Merger With Mexico and Canada' with the organizational chart of trilateral Mexican, Canadian and U.S. administrative officers that Corsi published in his articles and on his website September 26, 2006?

No. I’m talking about the participants in the Banff conference that Corsi published in an appendix to the same book.

Similar "assurances" were made to describe the European Coal and Steel Market.

That was some years before it became the European Union.

The EU now has a "constitution", a beaurocracy, a currency, and lots more restrictions on the freedoms of the Europeans themselves.

With an actual, concrete example of how the gradualism will morph into an actual union, we can easily foretell the end result.

Give me about 30 minutes, I'm in the middle of something. All I can say right now is that there was a meeting in Banff (I think Secretary Rumsfeld may have been there), and Corsi argued that it was evidence of the conspiracy because a list of the attendees was kept secret.

And my point is, you can't claim something is evidence of a conspiracy when you have knowledge of the opposite. In fact, I remember one thread where I posted photos of some of the attendees drinking coffee and eating croissants.
