Dan Proft- Dream Team No More: Identity Politics Melting Down Democrat Party
Urquhart Media, LLC ^ | 3/17/08 | Dan Proft

Posted on 03/17/2008 10:00:01 AM PDT by JulianaJohnson

Forget Eliot Spitzer, the entire Democrat Party is melting down before the nation's very eyes.

Last week, America was both introduced to the electoral cure for white guilt in the form of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and reminded by Geraldine Ferraro why Walter Mondale lost 49 states.

The Democrat Party and its two competing Presidential candidates have been hoist by their own petard of race- and gender-identity politics.

Feminist icon Ferraro, a Hillary Clinton-backer, was branded a racist by the Obama campaign for curious statements about the "concept" of Barack Obama. Ferraro essentially argued that if Barack Obama were different, he wouldn't be the same.

In defending herself against the Obama-mainstream media complex's backlash, Ferraro conceded on Good Morning America that had her name been Gerard Ferraro (presumably implying that had she been a man) in 1984, she would not have been selected as her party's ill-fated Vice Presidential nominee that year. So while Ferraro identified race as that which only distinguishes Obama, she at least volunteered that it was solely gender that distinguished her.

Meanwhile, back at the mothership, while Clinton was offering pro-forma denunciation of her comrade-in-arms, team Hillary finally got around to pushing out their special edition "Best of Rev. Jeremiah Wright" DVD collection of selected anti-American ravings and black helicopter conspiracy theories from the good reverend, Obama's long-time spiritual advisor.

If you think George W. Bush controls the media--yes, that President, the one with the 70% disapproval rating; if you think Israel is a state-sponsor of terrorism; if you think black Republicans are sell-outs; and if you think that America is a racist country that should be damned by God, then you are just going to get the biggest kick out of Rev. Wright's gyration-filled, pulpit pontifications.

It turns out that Michelle Obama is not the only one who saw no reason to be proud of America prior to her husband's political ascension.

The other Obama attempted to square Wright's affinity for hateful demagoguery with the post-racial "One America" vision of his campaign offering to ABC News the rationalization that Wright "is like an old uncle who says things I don't always agree with."

You know what the difference is between Louis Farrakhan, who Obama was quick to categorically repudiate, and good ole Uncle Jeremiah Wright? Louis Farrakhan plays the violin.

Both Democrat campaigns have now been reduced from pandering on the basis of race and gender to polarizing on those bases in order to make their best case to Democrat superdelegates that their opponent is unelectable in the fall against McCain.

Before this is over, they will be both be right.

Identity politics are inevitable in a multi-cultural, multi-racial society. There has never been a society where “diversity” led to peace and harmony, or to people “transcending race”. It was inevitable that this would happen, and a few people in America, Europe, and Canada said so forty years ago. They were shouted down as “racists”, but we now see that they were right, though PC regulations prohibit us from saying so. All we’re allowed to do is express astonishment that the inevitable occurred, and to wistfully hope that things will get better if we become still more multi-racial and multi-cultural.

Isn’t that the truth? The pandering and aftermath is proof positive that all the Demonrats care about is power, and they’ll rear their ugly racist/sexist selves if that’s what it takes to get it.

But after all, they’re such “tolerant” and “caring” people. Laughable.

I remember them very well, namely the John Birch Society headquarters in Lansdale, Pa.
It was not supposed to be “cool” to read books by their members but I remember them to this day.

and I have often thought, “how right they were,” particularly in their predictions about the total usurpation of the school systems by government protected union socialist teachings and the consequent dumbing down of the electorate in order to achieve their now openly stated goals.

Media bias has its limits. The limits are high, and we are all frustrated by this, but it ain’t infinite.

Hillary is on thin ice when fighting dirty from now on. It was her attacks on Obama that set this perception.

There are many things passionately believed by members of the African American community that can be deeply offensive to whites. Think of the stupid rumor circulating twenty years now claiming AIDS was created by the US Army and deliberately released in Africa. Think of Maxine Waters blaming the CIA for smuggling crack into her neighborhood.

Hillary is likely done too. She can’t win without the black vote and my guess is the blacks will not be voting come November. I have watched the news as black leaders have tried to defend this and it ain’t workin’. When their guy goes down in flames over it they are going to be outraged.

McCain ( not my 1st, 2nd 3rd or 4th choice) played it smart and has taken the moral high ground and is safely out of it.

I think the big story here is that the “drive-by” or “mainstream” media pampered Osamabama so much that they completely and utterly failed in their responsibility to vet him. Now they are getting exactly what they deserve. May they learn a very painful lesson over the next several months.

Yes, the liberals scream for a "one world government", they love a United Europe and want the same thing here in North America, however, they claim they want everyone to retain their racial and ethnic identities even though the differences between countries and races is what they claim we need a "one world government" for to erase the differences and become one big happy family.

The truth is they are using the diversity screed to tear this country apart and make it into a communist utopia, or so the imagine it to be.

Yeah, your post makes a lot of sense, in fact, I have argued similarly. However, just wait until October and they show the video of John McCain accosting a Black man and dragging him with a chain behind his truck! What? Such video doesn’t exist? Ha! Hate mongers don’t need no stinkin’ video. Just ask George Bush about James Bryd.

Peel away the layers, and it will be clearly evident that PC and its source, Cultural Marxism, lie at the root of every problem that plagues Western Civilization in these times.

There will be a brokered convention in Denver, and it's looking more and more likely that NEITHER Hillary or Obama will be the 'Rat nominee.

Don't count out Algore: he could be their knight in shining armor, coming to the 'Rats' political rescue.

The civil war in Sri Lanka started as a result of Tamil discontent over, among other things, employment set-asides.
