Hagee loves America, while recognizing its failings. Wright hates America.

McCain should not apologize for Hagee. Actually, Hagee should apologize for supporting McCain, but thats another story. I’ll cut him some slack. If McCain will clearly back the troops, which he does, and clearly back Israel’s fight against the very same terror masters we are up against, I may in the end have to support the guy myself.

For the record, I’m no fan of Hagee or any of the mega-church congregations for that matter. But, having his own words speak for him is best and he acquits himself well in what I read of this. I am also a Catholic who is aware of some of these other denominations feeling the need to criticize Catholicism in order to justify their own existence. Some of the criticism of the Catholic Church during the time of the Nazis only seems to be true if one doesn’t look deep enough. There were public and diplomatic relations maintained so that it would remain possible for the resistance and underground smuggling of Jews out of Nazi-occupied areas to continue. An honorable person sometimes has to keep up what appears to be a dishonorable public “image” in order to go on with the real work of doing what’s right.
It would be fun to see Romney get grilled on his cult religion that he was a Priest, Missionary, and Bishop in and that his family helped create, but it never happened.
Hagee is a good man and great christian. I respect him greatly.
