He owned a house less than 20 minutes from the Capitol, but Lt Gov. Paterson routinely used taxpayer money to stay at nearby hotels.....Credit-card records from the state Comptroller's Office showed he charged his state credit card for 13 Albany hotel stays totaling more than $2,500 between Jan. 1, 2007, and Feb. 18, 2008. With a NYC primary residence, property records show Paterson purchased a house in Guilderland in late 2001......since last year, Paterson charged his state credit card for 12 stays at the Clarion Collection Hotel and one at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, both down the street from the Capitol. Despite having a state driver to chauffeur him the 20 minutes home, Paterson sometimes stayed downtown.... "Lt Gov Paterson had a grueling schedule that required him to be near the Capitol.... to quickly respond to the urgent needs of the state." One state-government source laughed at the explanation, noting that lieutenant governors are not involved much in day-to-day matters and have no role in budget negotiations. The 13 hotel charges on his state credit card are on top of the nearly two dozen Albany hotel stays Paterson paid with his campaign account as a state senator from 2002 until he became lieutenant governor. Though the campaign could not provide documentation, hotel expenses were claimed for campaign workers and campaign-related events.

Let’s not forget Detroit’s mayor who is certain he will be vindicated.
If you are legally blind, then you are blind. Use your head.
Legally blind is blind. You don’t have functional vision. Use your head.

We actually have a No-Tell motel here in Tucson. Ready and waiting for our Democrat Pols.
Yeah, I can just imagine how many times they faced a crisis where they desperately needed the Lieutenant Governor.
What is it about these politicians that they think election to a little office — most of the time no one would know they were holding the office anyway — entitles them to treat themselves to goodies at taxpayer expense. It must be the dumb taxpayers for being unwilling to stop such abuse.
Is it along your Miracle Mile?
I can only hope you are being sarcastic here...
anyone with vision worse than 20/200 that cannot be improved with corrective lenses is considered legally blind. In addition, people with a visual field of less than 20 degrees diameter (10 degrees radius) are also considered legally blind.
Use your head and look it up. Totally blind is no vision whatsoever...
LOLOL! excellent!
The city folk elected them. Those of us in the REAL NY had little to say about it. We tend to run more conservative.
Intergovernmental relations? Hmm, sounds like she was well suited for the position.
Here in Central New York, we have no idea who most of these people are. They seem to be elected by folks in the cities looking for democratic handouts.
And this is what the heavily taxed citizens of N.Y. pay for.Disgusting!
It’s not like Patterson could just bring his mistress over to HIS house! He had to have somewhere to take her (or her(s)). And considering that he kept staying at low rent places like Days Inn, it’s a wonder that he had a mistress at all. I mean, what kind of women sleeps with a married man who only offers to take her to places like Days Inn??? Even the hookers would think that to be incredibly tacky.
A woman who considers that a small price to pay for a secure government job with great health benefits and a full pension.
Affordable, convenient with "no questions asked." The Waldorf gets a little pricey if you are doing multiple "meetings" with one's mistress.
