Video Shows S.C. Troopers Ramming Suspects
Two Troopers Seen Hitting Suspects With Cruisers

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Federal prosecutors were reviewing two separate cases of South Carolina Highway Patrol officers using their cruisers to chase and ram fleeing suspects.
Dashboard camera videos captured the incidents, along with an earlier one in which a trooper uses a racial slur.
Both of the latest videos are from 2007. They were just released.
One shows the cruiser striking a man who was running away. The man is sent flying into high grass on the roadside.
The trooper later received a three-day suspension, which he is appealing.
The other shows a chase at an apartment complex, with the cruiser driving between buildings, on sidewalks and passing onlookers, including a small child.
The suspect appeared to be hit at a lower speed and he kept running.
That trooper was reprimanded and completed a stress management course.
Here is ONE MORE reason.

I agree. I wonder how many cops are injured trying to take down a suspect every day? Wanna run? Eat the front bumper fella.
I am sure there are times when this action is justified. I imagine a nudge from a bumper or front quarterpanel can be very persuasive in stopping a pursuit. But like anything else, it must be used with caution and only when other options are not available
Someday when SC hosts the Olympics, I envision a new sport. Not dodgeball, dodgecar instead. The TV ratings would go way up. The possibilities are endless.
Don’t bring basketball shoes to a tire fight.
Too many doughnuts. Fatass cops can’t run anymore. Why do cops get such high pay and exquisite benefits now? I’m starting to forget.
A nudge from a bumper?
Are cops trained in non-leathal car ramming? Do they practice hitting crash dummies in the Academy? Is there a safety manual on the proper use of a lethal 5000 pound vehicle against a SUSPECT?
The cop should be thrown in jail, just like you or I would be if we did something like this.
If you did the exact same thing, what would happen?
There are just too many road-rage cops involved in dangerous high-speed pursuits.
They would not want to come up before me if I was a judge.
That would explain their really ugly hood ornaments.
Funny, and I thought the cops were just trying to add some BLING.
The SC Gamecocks have so many criminals and would be criminals on their squad, this may give Coach Spurrier some ideas about off season practice. If you can learn to outrun a squad car with a p-off redneck cop behind that wheel, a linebacker would be a piece of cake.
If it's a "man bites dog" version, where the victims and perps are reversed, give me a jingle...
