An American financial analyst working for the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad has died of his wounds from an Easter Day rocket attack against the heavily fortified Green Zone, a spokeswoman said Tuesday. ADVERTISEMENT
Paul Converse, 56, was hit when rockets fired by suspected Shiite militia fighters rained down on the U.S.-protected area in central Baghdad Sunday.
His parents, Dick and Leona Converse of Corvallis, Ore., told the Gazette-Times newspaper they learned Sunday that their son had been wounded and likely wouldn't survive. On Monday, two officers from the Oregon Army National Guard arrived at their door to inform them of his death.
The report was confirmed Tuesday by U.S. Embassy spokesman Mirembe Nantongo.
The U.S. military blamed Iranian-backed factions for a spate of rocket attacks that struck the Green Zone and surrounding areas on Sunday. Another volley slammed into the area on Tuesday, but Nantongo said no deaths or major casualties were reported.

And liberals across the nation cheer, chanting “4001.”
Maybe they can post his name and picture on such dignified web-blogs as: http://iraq.pigstye.net
The American liberal is not the type to volunteer for much, let alone the military. But he does see himself as patriotic and even tough, by taking his stance against the war and wrapping himself in the bloody shroud of the dead and wounded. I guess that does take some degree of courage.

The American liberal is not the type to volunteer for much, let alone the military. The American liberal prefers to volunteer other people, though.
The American liberal rarely stoops to help someone out with his or her own money but instead takes your own money to "help others."

Allegra, Please stay safe. I light a candle for you every week in church, naming you, along with all the other people unknown to me working over there with you. (i.e., Military, Civilians)
May God Bless You All and Watch over you.
Prayers also going out to Paul’s family and friends at this tragic event.

Thank you all so much. We really do appreciate the prayers and we sort of need 'em right now.
I haven't seen it like this in a very long time. The Iranians are busy. There are some serious things going on in my part of town (can't say much at this point) and the forecast for the next couple of days doesn't look real good.
Thanks again. Your thoughts and prayers are more appreciated than you know.

There was a story in the last two weeks that Mookie was on his death bed in Iran from food poisoning. Have not seen an update.
