Newt’s important in his own mind.

Newt Gingrich should be running the RNC.

Not this stuff again. Newt had his chance and like Delay and others choose to quit and become a useful idiot. Time to move on.

“Newt’s important in his own mind.”

Many of the points he makes are important. That’s what’s important.

I’ll second that!!! I personally dislike him, but he has put a fine point on some of the intellectual arguments we’re engaged in.

Wrong.

HE’s keeping it on the front burner, a very useful thing in my eyes.

Maybe I missed it, but right now he’s talking about education and research.

Newt did not chose to quit, do to his roving eye he was forced out because he would have been exposed as a hypocrite. Tom Delay had to quit because of a wormy little Texas thug masquerading as a prosecutor indicted him. Under rules the Republicans instituted he was forced to step down. Ronnie (the idiot)Earle who has failed to bring his case to court because he doesn’t have one did the same thing to Kay Baily Hutchison. He eventually dropped her case after she was elected to the Senate. Newt deserved to be relived of command Tom Delay did not.

Agreed. There are no conservative pundits on the circuit today that can promote a conservative idealogy as well as Newt. He wouldn’t have a snowball’s chance in a national election but he can communicate in clear, simple and precise terms.

Newt is a hypocrite and conservatives are not allowed to exist in the MSM that way. Delay a quitter. If he was exonerated he should return.

So far he has not been exonerated because the prosecutor has put it on the back burner. He will eventually get his day in court but it will be a while. Tom Delay was extremely effective and that is why this disgusting little worm was dragged out from under his rock to trump this BS up. Having said all I have about Newt and Tom Delay I still like both of them quite a lot. It’s just that in Newt’s case I can’t be hypocritical about his failings. He is however a very brilliant individual.

Newt’s important in his own mind.
For all the baggage . . . listen to the subject speech, and compare it to what McCain just said - can you honestly say you wouldn't accept Gingrich as Republican nominee in a heartbeat when the alternative is John McCain?

I know I would.
