Washington, DC -- A new annual report from Planned Parenthood shows the nation's largest abortion business has made over $1 billion in profit for the first time in its history. The non-profit pro-abortion group shows the historical gain in its new annual report covering 2006-2007.
The report shows an increase in the number of provided abortions from 264,943 in 2005 to 289,650 in 2006.

I think congress should investigate BIG ABORTION and tax their whirlwind profits.

I’m not keen on Planned Parenthood, of course, but the term “profit” seems to be completely inaccurate. It sounds to me that the real *profit* is described in THIS sentence:
“Planned Parenthood reveals it has doubled “excess of revenue over expenses” funds from $55.7 million in 2005 to $112 million in 2006.”
An excess of revenue over expenses is technically a profit.
The $1 billion figure sounds like REVENUES which makes this article laughably inaccurate and ignorant. That does NOT help the cause.
That’s $3,500 net profit per dead baby unit.
They are no doubt very proud they have been able to convince foolish people they are providing a service (albeit a horrible one), when in fact they have been able to turn murder into a profitable business.

In other words, the “profit” was barely one tenth of what the headline claims, and if you look at the rest of the annual report (especially the financial summary on page 16, from which the above data comes, and the details of services provided on page 6), it’s clear that this is derived from all of PP’s activities, of which abortion is a small percentage (3% of services provided).
If PP could make a billion dollars profit in a year from anything it does, it would hardly be asking for government support. It would be a for-profit corporation issuing stocks and bonds to raise as much capital as it wants (and a lot more than it’s getting from government/taxpayer sources), paying fat dividends, and shovelling out lucrative stock options to all its management.

PP's bottom line, i.e. the net income they made from murdering unborn children in cold blood - that is, the amount of money left over after paying all their expenses, was $112MM.
Were they a for-profit company, they would have had a profit of $112MM, not $1B.
They are, however, a non-profit because the net income they generate is not distributed to shareholders and not reflected in a publicly traded stock price - that money is used instead for PP's primary purpose: slaughtering innocent children.
The article magnifies their net income by a factor of 10 and makes the very basic mistake of confusing revenue for income.

How is it an attack to point out they got something incorrect?
A percentage of the profit from every birth control pill PP sells is attributable to abortion, since the pill sometimes acts as an abortifacient.
Let me see if I have this straight. A non profit that does not pay taxes makes a billion in profits and the are still sucking off the public trough? What a country!

I guarantee you that I'm every bit as pro-life as you are. The problem is that when a pro-life groups posts an inaccurate headline like that, that gives the anti-life groups the excuse to focus on the headline rather than the details of the story.
It's very sloppy work by LifeNews and it's important that it be corrected as soon as possible before the mainstream media (and the abortion mills) use it to discredit the pro-life movement.
Crime can pay well in the temporal. We will all eventually find out on our own if it pays in the eternal.
Total assets may be at $1 billion. They were nearing that milestone last year; they may have just passed it.

IMHO this is a bigger stain on America's soul than slavery ever was. Truth be told, it's more abhorrent than the atrocities of Hitler, Mao, Stalin and Pot rolled into one. At least their victims had a limited ability to resist under some circumstances. The only real difference between the culture of abortion and nazism is that the nazis loaded their victims into railroad cars and the victims of abortion are brought to the place of their death in utero.
But they aren't a for-profit company, they are a criminal conspiracy. By applying a for-profit model, the six-figure salaries paid to the "doctors" who actually perform the abortions would be considered costs reducing profit, rather than part of the wages of death.
To determine the profitability of a criminal conspiracy, you need to aggregate the individual profits earned by all the members of the conspiracy. In this case, that would certainly include almost all salaries paid (like Autumn's), as well as the vendors' profitability on purchased goods where the vendors are complicit (e.g., the company making RU486). At most companies these days, profit or non-profit, salary is by far the highest cost, so I'd imagine that the real total annual profit of this conspiracy is much closer to the figure for total revenue ($1b) than to the net gain in cash on hand for the pool ($112m).

The real bottom line is that Planned Parenthood kills babies for profit; and as thier very founder regularly stated to keep the undesirables and non white populations as low as possible. There is not one single good or decent thing they do. If it was not profitable they would close in a second. They are evil, pure and simple.

WASHINGTON, DC, March 28, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The newly released Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) 2006-2007 annual report shows that the abortion behemoth has increased the number of abortions it committed from 264,943 in 2005 to 289,650 in 2006. Total revenue amounted to over one billion dollars, with the organization’s profit margin - “excess of revenue over expenses” - soaring from $55.7 million in 2005 to $112 million in 2006. Taxpayer dollars played a major role in that profit with the report acknowledging the organization received over $336 million in government grants and contracts.
The massive government funding of the controversial agency comes despite its having been caught red-handed in illegal activity by various sting operations. Beginning in 2002 with the efforts of the pro-life group Life Dynamics, Planned Parenthood (PP) clinics across the country were caught on tape counseling actors posing as pregnant young girls seeking abortions to conceal the ages of their adult sexual partners since state laws would have required reporting of statutory rape.
Such sting operations have been repeated more recently with more modern surveillance equipment but with similar results. Last year Lila Rose, then 18 and a sophomore at the University of California Los Angeles, entered a local PP clinic with a hidden video recorder. Rose posed as a pregnant 15-year-old accompanied by her 23-year-old “boyfriend” played by James O’Keefe.
The video documents a staffer breaking California law, which requires clinics to report sexual abuse, including statutory rape where the victim is under 16 years old. In the meeting between Rose and an anonymous PPLA employee, the staffer told Rose: “If you’re 15, we have to report it ... If you’re not, if you’re older than that, then we don’t need to.” Rose says: “Okay, but if I just say I’m not 15, then it’s different?” The PPLA staffer responds: “You could say 16 ... Most recently Planned Parenthood was caught on tape accepting the donation of an actor posing as a racist hoping to fund the abortion of an African-American baby. An actor playing a white racist was able to give money to the group for the specific purpose of eliminating a black baby who might someday rob the apparent donor’s son of a spot in college because of “affirmative action”. The PPFA annual report proudly includes on its last page that the organization was “Founded by Margaret Sanger in 1916 - more than 90 years ago - as America’s first birth control clinic.” That is the same Margaret Sanger who once stated, “We do not want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population.”
