I wonder if this could cause some problems with the grid. Like everyone turning lights on at about the same time after this is over causing some malfunction due to the surge of electricity needed all at once.

In some places the idiots are marching around with candles, thinking that they are making a difference. Their candles are much less efficient than electric light bulbs and pollute the air much more.

If they want to cut down pollution, here’s a suggestion for all liberals: find out about cryogenics. Put themselves on ice for 300 years. That way they won’t breathe much and they will cut down on their carbon emissions.

Right now, I have no lights on but I do have my PS3, playing the Blu-ray of Hairspray on our 52” Plasma and recording the special features with a handicam, plugged in. This will take about three hours with all there is to film. This is for a friend who lives about 7 hours from us, who can’t get here to watch it herself.

I figures it makes up for about 12 household’s dark lamps at 8pm.

Will that do?

This reminds me of gay awareness day when I was going to Montana State University. Everyone was supposed to wear blue jeans on gay day. Well heck, that's all anyone wears in Montana. That's all anyone owns up there. So now we are supposed to turn on our lights at 8:00pm in support of global warming? Next they'll suggest we grill hotdogs on July Fourth in support of legalizing bestiality.
