When a gay teenager was gunned down earlier this year at an Oxnard school, the violence resulted in the unexpected: Young people, gay and straight, rallied across the nation for civil rights.
And even at an age when they're grappling with their own fragile sexuality, teens weren't afraid to stand up for the classmate who had been different.
"In middle school, you don't think about your own sexuality so much as you think of what society thinks is normal for kids, and you try to blend in," said 18-year-old Luis Roman, a gay community college student and youth leader for the Gay-Straight Alliance, an advocacy group active on high school and middle school campuses.
"So for these kids to come out and say that just because he was gay, that isn't a reason to get shot, that was mind-blowing to see that courage, for kids to stand up.
"Unfortunately, it took something of this level to make people realize there are gay people, there are lesbians, there are bisexuals, and they're part of our society."
The slaying of 15-year-old Lawrence King on Feb. 12 and the reaction to it illustrated a social shift characterized by gay youths "coming out" younger and their straight counterparts learning the art of tolerance.

"This was one of those turning points in society," he said. "It was a reality shock for everybody. They realized, `Hey, people are being bullied, and we're not doing anything about it."'
But even with an estimated 35,000 openly gay students in the Los Angeles Unified School District - a number based on general population statistics - teenagers, school officials, private counselors and advocates agree there's a long road ahead to wipe out discrimination.

The homosexual community wants children to declare themselves homosexual so they can then get the right of consent lowered so they can legally have sex with them. Homosexuals must recruit because their group is dying from aids and they are insatiable and must have “New Meat”. The average homosexual male has over 700 sex partners in their lifetime.
It always used to be that less athletic students, good serious academic students, music students, drama students, art students, and students who weren’t making out openly in the hallways were labelled gay by some of their more bullying peers. I hope these are not the kids that are being convinced they are gay now at earlier ages. They just may be late heterosexual bloomers. That would be a tragedy if these teachers and counselors are also telling them they’re gay. Hey, teacher, leave those kids alone...

If homosexuals are “born that way,” then a person cannot be recruited into it. So maybe it’s not inborn, but a choice. Acting on it is certainly a choice, just as acting on adulterous or pedophiliac or bestial desires would be choices.
I think these liberals get off on homosexuality and teenage sex of all types.

The article says that is based on general population statistics, and you would have to think that the number of adult hari-dressers who move to LA would drive the % at least that much.
They’ve had the access. For years they have molested kids and the fragile human psyche minimizes the attack by normalizing it.
The real change has been that people have been willing to accept that molesting is simply “helping them come to grips with their sexuality”.
When you look at the average age a homosexual male has his first gay encounter, and the average age of his first partner, what you see is a very clear pattern of predatory behavior by parts of the gay community.
Sounds like suddenly being gay is a new fad for the youngins.

Haven’t adults ever heard the term “acting out”? What would they expect from kids who are taught about “gayness” every month in class?
This used to be known as sexual harassment except gays are allowed to recruit and taunt heteros.
Ever notice how those who are “bi-curious” are always encouraged to engage in homosexual acts but those troubled homosexuals are not allowed counsel to come to grips with their heterosexuality?
I wanted to be a clipper ship captain at that age as a girl. That didn't work out too well. LOL
Mind you, this was back in the 60's, and society has surely changed a lot since then (understatement). I was a big reader, as I am now, and the romanticism of life at sea appealed to me.
Kids that have no direction buy into the whole gay thing in my opinion. We watch American Idol with our 11 year old son, and I have to tell you, he was mimicking Danny Noriega's gay affectations.
It opened a door for discussion and how it's not cool to act "gay". He has a fine-tuned sense of sarcasm for one so young, and got "it".
Knowing your child and being tuned into their life is key. I know that you know that. So sad some parents aren't active in their child's life. It's tough when they're sassy and trying to make their way but I refuse to give up control.
The whole thing is like some kind of state-sponsored pedophilia. Now all they have to do is lower the age of consent.
