“The fence cuts across many ranches that operate on both sides of the border.”
Oh! Thank you. Never thought of that.
Tha was the SC, not the Bush Administraton. I made a distinction, stick to it.
Oh, by the way, would Meyers have voted the same way as Alito? (Just felt like reminding you of that little episode too.)
McCain helped bring us this mess.
Or are you talking about Charlie Gibson?
Why the sudden 'about face' of someone (Bush) who previously has done everything within his power to promote the illegals?
I wish ...with all my heart...I wasn't so cynical, but events have pushed me in that direction, and I'm the sorrier for it.
As Dragnet2, AuntB, Tennessee nana and countless others have stated, the facts speak for themselves.
It would be a whole lot easier finding the terrorists trying to sneak in if they weren't hidden against the backdrop of millions of illegals flooding across our southern border.
Since every person who crosses the border illegal is technically a terrorist (Atacking our country in an act of war but not uniformed) then closing the border is a required part of our defense.
Of course then we have to round up the criminals here already and get rid of them one way or another.
it was Charlie - sorry :)
After sorting out your comment, all I have to say is the distinction was in your interpretation of your own words.
The SCOTUS got the case. Two justices have swung the decisions to a decidedly more conservative position. The administration made the nominations. This court's decisions now, and in the future will affect immigration policy far more than any single administration can, particularly with a hostile congress.
Oh, by the way, would Meyers have voted the same way as Alito?
That question is unanswerable.
Thanks indcons. Gosh, been a long time since I made that one but it sure doesn’t go out of style!!
I find it SO SPECIAL this story came out on April 1, 2008.
I will believe GWBush is not lying about the fence when is SEE THE PHYSICAL FENCE.
Or how about when it was done the right way?
Exactly, thank you.
I didn’t say it was a logical excuse, just that that is the beef.
There is some complications with the area being very arid -— you can’t really have a “gate” because where you are depends on the rain -— you’d need lots of gates, which defeats the purpose.
One of those “obstacles” is PRIVATE LANDOWNERS who do not want their land STOLEN by the Federal Government!
Who would you rather have on your land?
Illegals or the Federal Government?
Which is more likely to get your kids killed?
Hmmm... ask Randy Weaver or the Branch Davidians....
You think Mexicans can’t open a ranch gate?
May as well put a sign on there saying “Bienvenidos!”
:P
Except Bush didn’t agree with his SC appointees....

Damn. Maybe Bush, at the end of his 8 years, is finally getting it when it comes to border control. :)
Belive it when I see it....thus far he’s done nothing but give lip service to the issue and made photo-op appearances.
If he gave a rip about our nation’s security, he’d have SEALED the border on September 12, 2001.
