Apr. 4 - Palestinian fishermen catch and kill a giant sea turtle, thought to be a Leatherback, an endangered species.
The rare giant sea turtle caught on a beach near Gaza City was slaughtered and eaten by Palestinian fishermen who said its blood was an aphrodisiac, among other therapeutic qualities. A Reuters cameraman said the fishermen collected the giant turtle's blood and gave it to children suffering from trauma and adults with back problems.
“Watch out!!! Here comes the giant wave of worldwide condemnation from all the environmental groups, the save the animals groups, vegetarian groups, UN Wildlife Protection agency, PETA, etc. ......”
I just had quite a bit of fun popping up on an environmentalist forum and posting on a thread about how child-bearing rights should be brokered and that global over-population had to be bested.
My suggestion? End welfare. :) And do away with those who are having 6 kids and getting paid for by the state, all the while not education their own children to be responsible adults. I also suggested that since the West wasn’t a problem here that they were being imperialists by attempting to force Africans and Asians to have fewer kids. Oh the mischief... !!! :)

They get away with murder, kidnapping, rape, so why would anyone care if they kill a turtle?

In fact it is common belief among Southeast Asian Muslims that animals who live on both land and sea (such as amphibians, some reptiles, and some species of bird) are off limits.
