1. Bring in a couple of major companies and make Spokane their headquarters. Let's get a major industry base here. Service sector jobs alone won't cut it.
2. A downtown grocery store.
3. Get STA to run their buses during late evenings.
4. Food stalls downtown (Not just hot dogs!)
5. Still keep on Trader Joe's about getting a store here.
6. Some neighborhoods set aside for diversity (alternative lifestyles and ethnicities).
7. More nightclubs and bars. Bring in more bands to come into Spokane and not just to do shows at The Big Easy (The Big Easy sicks!)
8. A real weekly alternative paper that will really challenge the status quo and ruling establishment in town. More like The Stranger in Seattle or the Willamette Weekly or Portland Mercury.
9. More things to do for those of us who are young, single, and have NO KIDDIES!
10. Better taxi service.

So they want more jobs but they regulate and tax the companies out of business. Sounds like a “liberal” utopia which somehow magically the companies stay in business even though the tax and spend crowd takes their hard earned capital. Please note the other “make” better suggestions as to why this person even moved there.
Get a grant from the US Department of Alternative Newspapers and Buggywhips.
Those alternative newspapers seem to get get most of their cash from classified ads from escort services, and even the hookers have moved to Craigslist.
Most of this guy's requests seem to be "feed me, drive me around, entertain me" like some grouchy four year old. Grow up and learn to take care of yourself.

Eastern Washington doesn’t want to be like the liberal bastions of Seattle. King County corruption is not needed elsewhere.

Spokane is not a liberal city. I went to school there in the early ‘90’s and my opinion is that it is a wonderful place to live. I don’t know why that person moved there but there are plenty of good reasons.
OK, I thought from the title that the number one way to make Spokane better was to lower “South Hill”, I presumed because it was just too high for people to navigate it properly.
I was curious how big the hill was, and how they intended to lower it.
Apparently, the headline was misleading.... :-)

People from Seattle seem to think people in Spokane are jealous of them, and it aggravates them to no end that Spokanites could care less about Seattle (and do everything they can to disassociate from the western side of the state).
Eliminate all entitlements, forcing all the do-nothing low lifes into OR or CA.
Elect Dino Rossi - again!
