What does he lose by saying this now? What does he gain by saying the opposite at this point?

The real issue isn’t qualifications anyway, it’s policy.

Obama is the most far-left senator in the US Senate. No point in stressing that now. Plenty of time for all that later.

McCain did the right thing.

That’s about par for the course for you isn’t it?

It’s about what I would expect from a McCainiac.

No, he is constitutionally allowed to run for the office. He is profoundly unqualified for the job.

Of course the WAPO came out with a headline not supported by the statement of John McCain. McCain actually said that Obama is not now qualified.

Well, both McCain and Obama share the conceit that it is ok to spend all their time campaigning for new office rather than attending to old office. Scum all.

I wouldn't vote for McCain in a million years, and I have maintained that position here consistently for at least six years. Are you some kind of an idiot?

I think what McCain was trying to say is that if Slick Willie can do it for 8 years, ANYBODY CAN!

Things being what they are, I’m probably going to wind up voting for this sorry jerk of an a-hole Rino and I regret it already more and more every time he opens his mouth. I can, at this time, see no other viable alternative to the pure evils the Rats have offered up. I think McCain knows this about us conservatives and enjoys rubbing our noses in it.

>>He clearly stated he wanted someone that shared his “principles and priorities” and someone who would “carry on his agenda” in the event he could not complete his term in office.<<

And that tells me that if he picks Romney for VP, he knows that Romney has flipped back to an open borders harlot.

I can imagine no reason McCain should say Obama is "unqualified" to be president, or any justification for such a remark. If he's qualified to run he is qualified to serve under our Constitution, period. Whether he would be a good president, or as good, is another issue and McCain addressed that.

The "fact" is Obama should not be president he is a left winger of little experience. I saw McCain's interview and it went very well.

The democrats are tearing each other up, McCain is benefitting from the contrast. To make statements now that attract negative attention would be idiotic. McCain is appearing for interviews in which it is accepted as a given he is more experienced and more consistent on foreign affairs than either democrat. That’s just fine.

McCain is just trying to be classy. We all know Obama is not qualified at all.

No, he is constitutionally allowed to run for the office. He is profoundly unqualified for the job.

Outside of Constitutional parameters, to say that Obama is "profoundly unqualified" is a profound understatement. Sure, most civilized humans understand that Obama is nothing more than an over-hyped, flavor-of-the-month scumbag, but worse than merely being "profoundly unqualified", Obama is a serious threat to the very existence of our nation as we know it.

We have seen how long it takes to recoup our military strength and regain credibility internationally after recent rat administrations, but the future under an Obama Administration could be even more damaging. And the damage that that p.o.s. Obama could do with a few Supreme Court nominations sends shivers down my leg.

Quite a different take than Calcowgirl. I guess, I’ll have to watch it myself.

I understand what you’re saying, but I don’t consider McCain’s comments as “classy” .. I consider them ignorant.

If McCain cannot see how UNQUALIFIED Obama is .. then I seriously question McCain’s JUDGEMENT.

I mean, sometimes the truth has to reign. If McCain cannot bring himself to tell the truth about an opponent .. then how is he going to tell the truth to the terrorists ..??
