Former US president Bill Clinton said Friday he has been ordered to hold his tongue by his wife Hillary for reviving an embarrassing story about her trip to Bosnia in 1996 while out campaigning.
"Hillary called me and said 'You don't remember this. You weren't there, let me handle it.' I said, 'Yes ma'am," the grinning ex-president said during a campaign stop in Indiana, according to television pictures.
A series of gaffes have made Bill Clinton somewhat of a liability in his wife's campaign for the Democratic White House nomination.
And he put his foot in it again Thursday by raising the now-legendary story of how, as first lady, she had apparently landed in Bosnia under sniper fire.
Television footage last month debunked her claims, which Clinton used to emphasis her experience in comparison to rival Barack Obama, and her response that she had simply misspoke did little for her reputation.
The New York senator drew a line under the affair two weeks ago when she made a joke of it on a talk show, saying she was late because she had been "pinned down by sniper fire."
But Bill Clinton revived the issue once against Thursday, telling voters: "One time late at night when she was exhausted, she misstated and immediately apologized for it, what happened to her in Bosnia in 1995.
"Did y'all see all that? Oh, they (the media) blew it up."
Why would the nation sign up for 4-8 years of this icky marital soap opera?
Maybe this little escapade was put on to show America that Hillary has Bill under control and we needn’t worry our gun-totin’, bible-thumpin’, embittered selves about what might happen should she get in the Whitehouse.
Well, the nation signed up for eight years of it last time around...
Hillary promised Bill would not be a problem if she got elected and he is still causing problems....bwahaha!Solution...don’t elect her.

It was spoken several times yesterday in the media that Bill seems to be intent on sinking his wife’s campaign.
I’ve thought this from the beginning. Bill’s ego could not stand for Hillary to ALSO BE A “PRESIDENT”. The men who are former presidents of America are a unique and special group - I’m confident Bubba does not want to share that spotlight with Hillary.
NOBODY CONTROLS Bubba .. and anybody who thinks Hillary does .. has their head burried somewhere unmentionable.
I think he does want her to win. It would sort of salvage his legacy and add them as “firsts” to the history books. First woman president; first husband/wife team

Maybe he doesn't want to give up his $peaking gig$ and move into the WhiteHouse basement.
This is too funny. She tells him to shut up and he has to bring it up yet again. She won’t be happy he passed their personal conversation on to the press. He can’t stop his “me, me, me” compulsive behavior.
Bubba wasn’t there either. While Hillary and Chelsea were on the Bosnia tour, he was back in the White House inserting a cigar into Monica Lewinsky’s jay-jay.
In the long run, only God will have the power to silence Bill Clinton.
