Prof to Student: Keep the Faith, Lose the Grade(More anti-religion)

A community college in New York has been presented with a demand letter from the American Center for Law and Justice to halt a professor's classroom practices that allegedly have damaged at least one student – so far.

The letter from the ACLJ targets Suffolk County Community College and will be the prelude to a federal lawsuit if the issue isn't resolved, the organization said.

At issue is a professor's demand that students "change their own personal viewpoints or state that they are unsure of whether their own personal beliefs are correct" on religious issues, according to the letter.

That is an expression of hostility to religion, the letter explains.

The ACLJ said it is representing Gina DeLuca, a student who has been punished with lower grades and has been labeled "closed-minded" by a professor, who remained unidentified in the letter, because he demands that students acknowledge the possibility that God does not exist in order to participate in his philosophy class, which is required for graduation.

"The ACLJ has sent a letter demanding that the school end its discriminatory actions against DeLuca or face a federal lawsuit," the organization's announcement said.

If the professor acknowledges the possibility that God exists, then he is asking a fair question. This is a philosophy class. It is a metaphysical question. If he says God does not exist, then he is indeed expressing a personal belief in which there is no proof. Therefore, he is a defective philosopher. Why is such a class taught in a community college? I thought community colleges were meant to train students for work.

These ‘professors’ are in every college.. They forget that they’re there to TEACH and instead demand that you be molded into good little leftist/atheists in their own image. And they always threaten you with the grade.

I had one, my wife had one at her college too. The first day in class they state clearly... “if you dare interject God or religion or your personal belief that these things are real, good or positive -or even EXIST, you will never see a grade higher than a D.”

Why is this required to graduate? It should be an elective.

In other words, they are not there to indoctrinate.

I hope you took the D!

My biology professor who tried this nonsense and I nailed him in my final anyway(1975).

This was at a junior college and this clown had “taught” these same student in High School, so this was simply “advanced indoctrination”.

He had been promoting abortion and euthanasia.

I painted a clear picture regarding who gets to decide who lives and who dies. “You can NOT pretend that an academically constrained example will persist in the world!”
“It will NEVER be the case that ONLY the patient gets to decide when they die. There will always be the selfish family, the cost cutting hospital and insurance companies.”
“Who will define which disability, illness, or malady qualifies for further treatment?” “Have you ever opposed Hitler's concept of a master race?” “By the way professor, your 3 day flu just became pneumonia and that's too expensive to treat!”

Of course, it would never occur to this professor that he or she may be "unsure" of his/her beliefs. No, Liberals, though human, can't be wrong. Just ask them.
