Thats so true, and if you tell them not to do it, they will do it anyhow...
It is part of the growth process to rebel and explore. I think one problem is that many parents make it so taboo to even discuss these issues that as soon as the child is free, the go nuts rebelling. We had a joke about a local Baptist University. You always knew who the sluttiest kids where, they were the ones w/ the most oppressive parents. The kids of the parents who actually were open and discussed issues were the ones most likely to wait until marriage. This isn’t about sex, but drinking, drugs, you name it...
Even when it was criminal?
Used to be a crime. Now those who are under age can consent even though they are “too young” to consent.
They can even consent to someone over the age of majority if they are near in age.
And that goes for homosexuals too so what they said about Lawrence v. Texas was a lie. It wasn’t just about consenting ADULTS in private, it was for anyone. And considering the public sex homosexuals engage in and the public school recoginition of homosexuals, it wasn’t about being in private either.
Slippery slope. Don’t be surprised by the results at the bottom in the gutter.
I am a guardian appointed by the court. The girls in my custody will not date outside of parental supervision until they are 18. Tough.
You still tell them. Parents have a responsibility to teach their children to make good choices.
