The premise to both of your questions is flawed.
Hannity has been reporting on this for MONTHS. It only became an issue when the MSM picked it up - probably at Hillery's request. If McCain had tried to make hay with it he would have been labeled a RACIST.

Both Ears and Cackle are extremely weak candidates, but for different reasons. The longer Operation Chaos keeps these two at each other's throats, the better. Just remember all the money being wasted as these two charlatans Freddy-Krueger each other up. No matter who gets the nod, the losing candidate's support base will revolt.
