A coalition of 16 Iraq War Veterans have united to support each other for a run at Capitol Hill.
In a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. last week, timed to coincide with the arrival of Gen. David Petreus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker to Capitol Hill, six members of Iraq Veterans for Congress, IVC, outlined their frustration over the lack of representation in Congress of the new generation of veterans.

Lt. Col. William Russell, an Airborne Ranger, husband, father and small business owner has a tougher fight on his hands in his congressional race than he had in Iraq. Russell will be going against congressional fixture, Rep. John Murtha Penn. -- 12th.

17 conservative heroes from the Iraq War are running to for 17 House congressional seats this fall, including John Murtha's seat...
Finally, something for conservatives to get excited about supporting! Fed up with the leftist anti-American / anti-war propaganda from Democrats, these soldiers came home from Iraq and decided to keep fight for their country in the halls of congress!
Conservatives have been looking for where they can move the country to the right, and here it is!
17 House seats. No matter whether you live in one of these disctricts or not, lets get behind these men!
Here's their official site -

“Here’s where all that money we’re NOT sending to the RNC or John McCain, should be going!”
AMEN!
We’ll need these people to fight McQueegs screwy policies.
Thanks for the link - I’ll be checking it out...
Good for them and good for us. These brave men deserve to be heard. I hope they all do well.
Excellent suggestion! I certainly would rather send my campaign donations to patriots instead of idiots.
“Here’s where all that money we’re NOT sending to the RNC or John McCain, should be going! “
Hear, Hear! Well said!
It wastes more money on that crap than I can imagine.
BTTT
Along with my own particular brand of pungent comments on amnesty, RINOs, etc. I always write a comment on how any and all of my future contributions will be going to proven conservative candidates only.
I DO put my own stamp on the postage-free envelope, however. I'm not ALL bad.
At any rate, thanks to this post, I now know where my modest funds will be directed. Among other races, I want Murtha to be defeated so badly that my eyelashes hurt.

Whether Soldier, Sailor, Airman, or Marine, we all shared a common goal in Iraq: victory. As Republican candidates for Congress we share a vision for America's future, her security, and that of future generations. We are unified in our commitment to relieve the Democrats of their command of Congress.
WOW ping.
Welcome!
I hope we will all make sure they do well!
Ain’t that the truth!
These guys have it right!
This is my favorite item from their What We Fight For section:
- We will demand accountability from members of Congress and demand that they explain their anti-military votes.
Their Candidates section gives us all a chance to check out the individual candidates.
Unless there has been recent changes, William Russell is running in Pennsyvania's 12th District, not the 22nd as shown on the page.
I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Russell in front of the Cannon Building last week. He said he was working on getting on the ballot, but did not have the time to explain how, as his group was scheduled to meet with congressional members.
From his site I see he is doing a write-in campaign in the primary next Tuesday, April 22nd. He only needs 1000 voters to write him in to be on the ballot in November.
This link gives explicit write-in directions for each county in the district.
If you, or anyone you know has the ability to reach voters in PA's 12th District, please advise them of this campaign. There are many who have concerns with his candidacy, but John al-Murthawi should not be permitted to run unopposed! (He should not be permitted to do a lot of things, but that's another story.)
Will do, thanks for posting all the info!
Ditto for me, except I use RED! Don't want them to miss it.
I also inform them I ONLY contribute to conservative candidates of MY CHOOSING!!!
I DO put my own stamp on the postage-free envelope, however. I'm not ALL bad.
This is where we part ways. I am ALL that bad!
Let them use what money they have in postage, rather than working against conservative candidates. ;*)
BTTT
No problem.
I sent money to both McCain and the Iraq Vets for Congress.
Better to have McCain AND the Vets than either Obama and Hillary AGAINST the Vets.
It’s funny that the only Iraq vet in Congress right now is a Democrat, Patrick Murphy, who represents a suburban area north of Philly.
Amen
To these guys not the RNC, NRCC!
This is great!
IT’S TIME FOR ALL TRUE CONSERVATIVES AND PATRIOTS TO UNITE BEHIND THIS CAUSE and ACT!
Together, we can make sure that is matters little who becomes President this November.
Divided, these 17 men will fall, and so will this nation.
The money not being sent to the RNC and looking for a candidate to support should be sent to candidates who are NOT running against an incumbent who has already raised 1.5 million dollars and won re-election in 2006 61% to 39%, no matter how much you hate him. (Murtha)
Sending money to candidates running in districts like that is equivalent to working for Democrats. That money should be vectored to winnable races.
You want to hurt Murtha? Take seats from his party. Dilute his power.
Kick the prick to the curb! Along with all of his socialist anti-American friends.
Sounds like we need to raise $5 million for Murtha’s opponent then.
You can’t do it. Find a winnable race and win it. This one isn’t it.
They are ALL “winnable.” The question is, at what cost?
Tell me what cost it too high?
Amen...double!!!
Ping for later.
For his heroism, he was discharged by the Pentagon just shy of full retirement.
I sent him an e-mail thanking him for his service and he replied. He is a true gentleman.
Not sure off the top of my head, but the one running for the GOP seat in Joisey may be going up against the daughter of our ex-RINO guv, Christine Whitmann in the primary.
Pinging the FRed list.
Thanks for the link!!!!!!!
Duncan D. Hunter shout-out!
Great post.
Lt. Col. Russell will be on Steve Malzberg sometime in the next week.
Keep your ears up!
Yes! Amen!
PING!!!!
Thanks, I am going to send them a bit of money. Best of luck to them.

PING!

Thanks for the link. I was happy to contribute to Diane Irey in her race against that drooling old fool Murtha; I’ll be happy to contribute to these guys, even if none of them is from California.
No way to say it better!
BRAVO!
Not funny, but sad!
Thanks for the info!
Thanks for that ping!
If I may make a modest proposal here.
I just wrote a check to one of the guys, and will write one every week to another.
If we could forward the web site address to family and friends, we may be able to really get some funds generated. I just sent out the site to everyone I could think of that might be interested in helping them.
Regards,
AR
