Barack Obama: Bill Ayres = Senator Tom Coburn??? (Unbelievable!)
Townhall ^ | April 17, 2008 | Duane R. Patterson

What a horrible night for Barack Obama, and for the Democrats in general. George Stephanopoulos, along with Charlie Gibson, conducted a great debate on substance, showing any American willing to look that neither Democratic candidate is ready for the West Wing, and that John McCain clearly is.

In an exchange that will be played all through the general election season, Senator Obama was asked about his connections to unrepentent anti-war bomber/terrorist/Weather Ungerground member Bill Ayers. Obama was clearly flustered by the question, and in responding, compared Ayers to Oklahoma Senator Tom Coburn's views on doctors who perform abortion. Here's the video:

The last time I checked, Doc Coburn neither advocated, participated, nor had a need to repent from any terrorist activity, unlike Bill Ayers, who to this day is proud of his activities forty years ago. If Obama wanted to unify America, he took another large step in achieving half of that goal with conservatives, who are not going to take this slander on Coburn lightly.

Both Clinton and Obama stumbled on taxes, especially capital gains taxes, on guns, and on foreign policy. Obama was clearly uncomfortable on the Wright issue that hasn't been put behind him yet.

The other exchange that's going to come back and bite Obama is him doubling down once again on the bitterness comment that has caused him so much grief this past week. Here's the video of that:

When people feel like Washington's not listening to them, when they're promised year after year, decade after decade that they're economic situation's going to change, and it doesn't, then politically, they end up focusing on those things that are a constant, like religion. They end up feeling this is a place where I can find some refuge. This is something that I can count on. They end up being much more concerned about votes around things like guns, where traditions have been on from generation to generation.

So if the economy is going great, especially if it's caused by action in Washington, people have no need to focus on things like religion or votes on guns? It sounds to me like he didn't walk back from what he said to the elites in San Francisco a week and a half ago. Instead, Obama's answer came out sounding something like, "I made a mistake about what I said in San Francisco, so let me be clear about what I really meant then, and mean today. When small town people get bitter, it sometimes drives them to guns and God. Hopefully, I cleared that up."

As has been said around the blogosphere, there was only one clear winner tonight, and that is John McCain.

Senator John McCain seems to have the White House falling into his lap: This is going to be Vice President George H.W. Bush vs. Governor Mike Dukakis all over again, IMO.

Yes, let us be thankful the libs are FINALLY showing the world what they are all about, what they stand for, and who and what they are.

Keep up the good work, Osama (and Hillary). They are conducting McCain’s campaign for him, by default. :-)

True, if the American people are paying attention. I don’t see much hope in that when half the country doesn’t even know who the VP is.

We've got to help as many as we can by bringing it to their attention. Each of us can do that and work hard at getting others to do the same.

Just like last cycle against Kerry. Time to pony up again.

Is Barack Smarter than a sixth grader?

This morning while driving my kids to school, the radio played an excerpt of Barack speaking...in which Barack says (to the effect) “China has 1 billion people and India has 700 thousand people”

My Daughter caught the mistake, India has now over 1 billion and China 1.3 billion...

Can someone confirm if this person was Barack or not him...I was half asleep If this is True, Barack is NOT smarter than a sixth grader...Hahahahahah and he might be president

I wish I could feel that way but I can’t.

I see people at work etc. that are bad enough when they don’t pay attention to the issues, and are allowed to vote but have zero idea what they’re voting for...

but worse are the morons that simply DON’T CARE about America, morals, freedoms...

they’re busily counting down to see Bush leave, or want “change”, or blame Christians, white people, conservatives, working people, Republicans...for their untied shoes!

Too many I come into contact with would literally vote for OSAMA let alone Obama.

My, my....it appears this Harvard educated and leftist anointed “genus” is simply a Potemkin Candidate to fool the ignorant leftist and black racist base of the DNC.

Obama hasn’t fooled the “REAL” Americans......

Obama’s facade, put up to obscure his ugly racist Marxist and America hating agenda, is being stripped away — slowly but surely..

I can not understand why any honest, and law abiding patriot would want Obama as a friend.

My idiot brother-in-law the other day was castigating Dick Cheney for getting deferments during the Vietnam War. When I pointed out to him that the big troop buildup didn't occur until 1965, when Cheney was already married and expecting a child, he said, "Well, he managed to get himself out of the Korean War, too!"

I gently pointed out to him that Dick Cheney was born in January of 1941, and would've only been 12 years old when the Korean War ended.

What do you do with people like this?!

I couldn’t believe that when I heard that. He compared a decent senator to a terrorist. Simply unbelievable.

Yep. I will correct that on my web site. He's a real piece of work and Obama traveled there in 2006 to support him.

If I remember right, didn't Obama mistakenly talk about 10,000 people being killed by a tornado in Kansas last year?(Not to make light of that awful storm, but I don't think he quite had the numbers right).

These are the simplest things to get right, yet he gets it wrong...

The Dims just found last night that the press uses the so-called ‘gotcha’ questions. They may be right. Such questions usually are reserved for the Republicans only, especially if he is a POTUS.
