Carville Vs. Gov. On CNN (NM-Richardson)
The Albuquerque Journal ^ | April 24, 2008 | Jeff Jones

Posted on 04/24/2008 8:06:53 AM PDT by CedarDave

Gov. Bill Richardson and James Carville went toe-to-toe Wednesday night on national cable TV in their first exchange since Carville compared Richardson with Judas— and neither pulled any political punches.

During the duo's appearance on CNN's "Larry King Live" in D.C., Carville tossed out fightin' words— including "idiocy" and "foolishness"— to describe some of Richardson's comments.

And the Hillary Clinton backer and political analyst didn't back down a bit on his comment equating Richardson with Judas for endorsing Barack Obama's bid for the Democratic presidential nomination.

"I've said what I had to say, and I don't take a word of it back," Carville told King during the show, which was billed as a sort of political boxing match ("Showdown!" "Richardson vs. Carville!) by the cable news network.

Richardson, meanwhile, repeated his position that he wasn't going to "get in the gutter" with Carville. But he heaped plenty of criticism on the Clinton camp, maintaining Carville's attacks are "typical of the negativity" the Clintons have been aiming at Obama.

Richardson added that he expects the negative campaigning to continue as the race for the Democratic presidential nomination enters its final stretch of state contests. And he said he believes it's working in the Republicans' favor.

~~snip~~

There's a sense of "clinging to the throne," Richardson said, clearly referring to the Clinton camp. "You know, we're America, we're not Monaco."

That comment set Carville off.

"I don't know how to address that kind of idiocy, but let me try," Carville said, later adding, "Last time I checked, people out there are voting— and they're going to vote some more."

Carville accused Obama of ducking out on debating Clinton again. But Richardson said the two candidates have taken part in more than 20 previous debates.

I almost never agree with Carville, but in this case I do. Richardson is a fat opportunist.

Does that throw on the back of Richardson's chair, say GOP?

Bill really tore the Clinton's new ones this morning. Called them a self appointed dynasty!

Clinging? There's that word again......Clinging to this, clinging to that...... Obama's favorite word. In this case it's pretty accurate.

and...as I recall reading somewhere it was old willie who called Gov. Richardson and ASKED if he could come watch the Super Bowl with him. I love how Richardson said “clinging to the throne.” Carville must have gone ballistic. Ha,ha.

I loved how Richardson stood up for himself. Carville was just mad cause Richardson held the upper hand.

Richardson is a fat opportunist.

An an incompetent, which reflects poorly on Bill and Hill's decision to give him ANY position within the WH other than bathroom cleaner.

That’s what they are. Self appointed in EVERYTHING.

As for the clinging to the throne of the clintins...there is only one throne I can think of for both of them.

Why is everyone still on the Richardson endorsement of Obama anyway? I thought they all said Richardson’s endorsement didn’t mean anything anyway? Ha,ha,hao, ha,oa, hoa,ha,ha. This is sooooooooooo funny. Never liked Richardson much but..he sure took the clintins and carville by the tale didn’t he?

Being carefully groomed, trained and brainwashed by the globalists is not 100% self-appointed.

Nevertheless, the spirit and label are accurate.

Good. It will be just a matter of time before former Clintoon thugs will start turning on their former Mistress and Master.

We will start reading, seeing and hearing things from them that we have posting on FR for years. When those realities hit the MSM, the Clintoons will be like Hussein Obama when his realities got out this past few weeks, in deep dodo!

Yea and the first nineteen were nothing but a love fest and softball questions to Hussein. Now that the dirty is out on him he has no use for debates. This guy is a joke.

For what it’s worth, Carville has his house up for sale in VA and is moving back to LA. I imagine Carville, for all his bravado, knows the Clintoon jig is up. Who knows?

I’m with Richardson on this one. Why does he have to support the “Beast” just because Bubba gave him a few jobs? Bill(Clinton) knew he could manipulate him just like everyone else in his administration. Richardson has seen how easy it is for the Clinton’s to throw anyone they have no more use for under the bus. Probably figured he’d beat them to it.

If Clinton wins, can you imagine how hard she's going to turn on those who turned on her? Kennedy, Kerry, Richardson, Reich, etc.? What fun! Frankly, as much as I dislike Clinton, she's been shafted by her old political "friends," and I'd love to see the payback that would ensue with her as the nominee.

Most of these reprobates didn't come out and take a turn pounding the stake in Hillary until it looked like ZERObama was a sure thing. (Kind of like placing a bet during turn 4.)

Once Hillary's fate is decided and she no longer needs to focus on Zerobama like a laser beam, they can all expect invitations to a garden party where their ass is grass and Hillary is the lawn mower.

Me too. Richardson was given a postion and he did the job he was given to do. He owes NO allegience to the wife of the former disgraced, impeached president. Simple as that. Trouble with the clintins they figure you owe them everytime they do something for you. I’m proud of Richardson for standing up to them and continuing to stand tall when they attack him. It COULD be the new look with the beard...think? :) At any rate I have a little more respect for the Governor. He didn’t cave.

"Carville was just mad cause Richardson held the upper hand."

I REALLY wouldn't want to be in Richardson's shoes when everything shakes out. If Hillary loses the nomination, the Clintons will have lots of time on their hands to consider punishment for their new-found enemies, and something tells me, Richardson is right up there at the top of the list. If she's elected, I hope Richardson is already on some unnamed, uninhabited island before the inauguration.

Richardson seems very, very happy and contented. I don’t think he is worrying about those has been clintins. Their days of dominance is over. THEY are over. My money is on Richardson livign a happy life without the clintins.

Remember way back when Clinton left office, we couldn’t believe that there wasn’t a chirp about anything seen or heard by any of the Clintonistas? Nothing but a big pile of dead bodies, no books, no interviews, not a word. But it does look like MAYBE the floodgates might open and all that crap will pour forth. Better late than never.
