Reports that the N.C. Republican Party is pulling a planned TV advertisement about Barack Obama are false, Republican chairwoman Linda Daves said today.
"I can't be emphatic enough that we're running the ad," Daves said, reports David Ingram. "We are not pulling the ad. It has never been a consideration for us to pull the ad."
Several media outlets, including MSNBC, have reported that the party reversed course Thursday and would not run the ad. The ad has been scheduled to begin running Monday on evening newscasts in North Carolina.
Daves said the reaction received by the party is running 10-to-1 in favor of the ad.
At least one television station, WRAL in Raleigh, has declined to run the ad.
"I think it is inflammatory," said Jim Hefner, vice president and general manager at WRAL. "If that spot was about Senator Obama, that would be one thing. What do Perdue and Moore have to do with Barack Obama's minister?"
Unlike with ads sponsored by political candidates, the station is under no legal obligation to run an issue ad sponsored by a political party, Hefner said.

Don’t give in, Linda! North Carolineans deserve better than being dictated to by country club, socialist Republicans in DC and NYC.

So TV stations will run ads from the UnAmerican Democrat Party, but not Republicans.
Has this station ran ads from MoveOn.org?

Not really.

It’s a win-win situation. McCain can do whatever he likes—there’s no way the Dems can use this against him no matter how it turns out. What are they gonna do, run ads that say “McCain refused to badger NC GOP to take down ads showing Obama’s ties to radical preacher Wright”. There’s nothing they can do without themselves drawing more attention to the Obama-Wright connection. NC is right to keep the ads up, McCain is smart to distance himself.

"What do Perdue and Moore have to do with Barack Obama's minister?"Well Mr. Hefner, they support a man whose spiritual advisor hates America and has had great influence over him. Anything else flying over your head you need explained?

I’ve wavered on whether it would be easier to beat Obama or Hillary. I have flopped in favor of Hillary. If McCain is unwilling to attack Obama over Wright, he won’t attack him over anything.
To: Ilya Mourometz
Yes, it is a win/win, becuase John (formerly known as 'the spine') McCain has been outed for what he is... AGAIN!!!
He shouldn't ask that this add be stopped. He shouldn't be standing behind some woman's skirt. He should be doing this himself. What a loser...
Senator John McCain wants to be the figure-head of Conservatism. Okay, lets think that out...
John McCain becomes President. He's still the same old John McCain.
The RNC backs his liberal policies to maintain a position of power
The Republicans in Congress back his polices to maintain access to the White House
Republican candidates for Congressional seats move to the left, since John McCain proved that moving to the left assures RNC support and votes
The Republican party leadership at the state level moves left as McCain and the RNC demand it
Republican candidates at the state level move to the left, since John McCain proved that moving to the left assures Republican support and votes
Republican Conservative office holders across the nation will be silenced
Apologists on Conservative forums across this nation defend McCain against the few Conservatives who are left, and attack them there (forums move left)
Last but not least, the Democrats move even farther left to differentiate themselves from McCain
Who writes Conservative bills and rams them through state or federal government after that?
Who talks about Conservatism from a position of power? Who takes the chance to disagree with McCain on anything?
Under a John McCain Presidency, Conservatism ceases to become a movement, and becomes a theory. It will no longer be practiced by enough politicians to be viable.
Under leftist McCain, there is no functional opposition. Promoting leftist policy, it all passes without opposition, nobody objects to the liberal policies
Under leftist Hillary or Barack, there is not only a functional opposition, it grows by leaps and bounds in objection to their policies
We saw what a one party system did to Arkansas under Clinton. It was terrible. Now we want to install that in our federal government, leftists one and all.
No thanks. Color me dumb, but I'm not voting to turn the U.S. into 1980s Arkansas.

Folks, you either wake the hell up, or doom conservatism to oblivion. After November the 4th, it's too late. You will have silenced Conservatism in our nation for four or eight years, and quite possibly forever.

Run what you want, it doesn’t matter anymore.
Today, while in NO, McCain made it clear that he’s running for the democrat ticket, and he’s going to try to beat Bush.
So don’t worry about anything McCain says about the RNC....run the ad.
