Obama Distorted Rev. Wright's Background
NewsMax ^ | April 28, 2008 | Ronald Kessler

Posted on 04/28/2008 7:12:40 AM PDT by Aristotelian

In an interview with Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday, Barack Obama again fabricated the background of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright to try to excuse his longtime pastor’s denunciations of America and of whites.

Referring to racial discrimination, violence, and segregation, Obama said Wright “went through experiences that I never went through.”

In his speech on race in Philadelphia, Obama made similar claims. He described a “lack of economic opportunity among black men, and the shame and frustration that came from not being able to provide for one’s family . . .”

Obama said this was “the reality in which Reverend Wright and other African-Americans of his generation grew up . . . For the men and women of Reverend Wright’s generation, the memories of humiliation and doubt and fear have not gone away; nor has the anger and the bitterness of those years.”

But as detailed in an April 13 Newsman article, “Obama’s Rev. Wright Mythology,” Obama’s characterization of his mentor’s upbringing is untrue.

Wright grew up in a racially mixed, middle-class section of Philadelphia called Germantown, which consisted of homes on broad tree-lined streets. Both his parents had good jobs: His father was a pastor; his mother was vice principal of Philadelphia High School for Girls.

Wright was privileged to attend the elite Central High School, which admits only the most highly-qualified applicants from all over the city. When Wright attended Central High, the student body was 90 percent white, according to students who attended at around the same time.

Wright’s classmates clearly respected him. The 211th class yearbook described him as the “epitome of what Central endeavors to imbue in its students.”

I am the ONE, I will Change Americe

Photobucket

Lets look at the democRAT Presidential candidate of CHANGE/HOPE:.

He "hopes" no one notices when he quotes anti-white lines from movies while speaking to mostly black audiences.

He "hopes" no one notices when he uses gangsta rap gestures which reference misogynistic lyrics..

He "hopes" no one notices when he says he took no DC lobbyist money he didn't include Nadhmi Auchi or George Soros..

He "hopes" no one notices that he attended Rev Wright's Church for 20 years and didn't hear a word.

He "hopes" no one ask him any questions about Most Rev Wright or Black Liberation Theology.

He "hopes" no one notices that he is completely comfortable hanging out with America hating bigots..

He "hopes" no one notices that his political career shows very little accomplishments that he can call his own..

He "hopes" that he can continue to run a gutter/negative attack campaign against Hillary and no one will notice. Audacity, baby!

Obama lied about only being in that 'so-called' church once or twice when Wright spewed his hate and venom. He then admitted to being there often in his "I HAVE AN EXCUSE" speech.

Obama repeatedly lies about McCain wanting a "100 year War". He still hasn't apologized for his daily lying on that one.

Obama is now lying about Wright's past.

Anyone see a pattern here?

He also lied about not taking money from oil/gas companies--when in reality, he had accepted over $200,000 from them.

Senator B. (whose middle name must NEVER be spoken) Obama is a big liar--but he does it so ELOQUENTLY! /s

Every time he tells a lie his ears get a little bigger. It will not be long until he will be able to flap them and fly off into the sunset. I hope!

Moreover, at the NAACP, Wright in effect ratified the black culture of failure by saying African-Americans’ brains are different than those of whites: If they speak differently from whites, they are not wrong — just different, he said, implying that they should not be corrected

The real failure is Reverend Wright. His actions hurt not help the black community. He is a charlatan riding the money express of racial bitterness that he and the other charlatons cultivate for their own financial gain. Obama is also a charlatan riding the same train. He can not admit the real reason he joined Reverend Wrights Church. The church represented a power base in local politics of Chicago. This was a cynical decision based on political gain for Obama. Based on his remarks about people "clinging to their religion" I have doubts about his faith in god.

This is significant. It’s quite typical. Just like Kyane West, who lived a priviliged life while claiming Bush hates black people, despite Bush’s promotion of blacks to the highest positions of power they’ve occupied, having the most diverse cabinet in US history, and doing more for Africa than any leader in history, Kayne, who had to be told by his manager to give money to help “his” people, made a ridiculous statement, Wright spews verbal diherra about how bad America is despite not having experienced the worst of America, as say maybe, Justice Thomas did. Which brings me to my point.

Compare Justice Thomas and Condi Rice, both products of the segregated south, to Wright, who appears to experienced nothing like the former went through. And yet, he’s the epitome of the black chuch expressing what’s supposedly on the minds of most blacks in America, while Thomas and Rice are sellouts.

And nothing has changed. Wright rails about white while living in a predominately white neighborhood removed from the community he supposedly represents.

The left is a fraud. It’s dispicable. It exploits its people for its own gain. Its “leaders” have a fraction of the character of those who break from the ranks and they turn on revealing their true racists, ignorant selves.

I hope America pays attention and learns something because they people have provide sufficient rope to hang the 60s mentality that has been a bane to America’s existence since they first started popping pills and smoking dope.

Geeee,,,,do you think the 70% black illegitimacy rate,,,,

or maybe the greater that 50% high school black drop out rate in big cities might have something to do with that???

Whose fault is that? Whitey??? Ask Bill Cosby.

If Rev Wright and his followers so hate White America, they have all the freedom in the world to immigrate somewhere else. Please someone ask these fools to just go!

I'd like to see NewsMax dig into Wright's military record, which he and Obama keep touting as proof of Wright's "patriotism."

Wright, we are told, was a US Marine. How and where did he serve?

Molly Henneberg of FoxNews reported today (just after Wright's National Press Club performance in which he compared his service favorably to Dick Cheney's) that Wright was a PFC in the Marines - and that he then transferred to the Navy and went to "corpsman school."

Those are the only details I've heard about Wright's military service.

I grew up in Philadelphia and lived for many years in Germantown. It was and is indeed a racially mixed neighborhood. However, when Wright was a boy, older white families were moving out in fairly significant numbers, and parts of Germantown became almost entirely Black, many of these pretty gritty. With a preacher father and a mother who was Vice-Principal at Girls' High, though, my guess is that Wright probably did in fact grow up one of the racially-mixed, middle class parts of Germantown.

Wright's mother also must have been a pretty talented woman. Girls' High was the female equivalent (and next door neighbor) of Central High, which Wright attended. It drew academically gifted girls from all over the City, and its faculty, like Central's, were the best the City had to offer (which in those days would have been pretty good). Both schools were easily the equivalent of a good private school.
