Is Jeremiah Wright a colossal disaster for Barack Obama or a [Hillary Clinton] press trick?

The Rev. Jeremiah Wright couldn't have done more damage to Barack Obama's campaign if he had tried. And you have to wonder if that's just what one friend of Wright wanted.
Shortly before he rose to deliver his rambling, angry, sarcastic remarks at the National Press Club Monday, Wright sat next to, and chatted with, Barbara Reynolds.
A former editorial board member at USA Today, she runs something called Reynolds News Services and teaches ministry at the Howard University School of Divinity. (She is an ordained minister).
It also turns out that Reynolds - introduced Monday as a member of the National Press Club "who organized" the event - is an enthusiastic Hillary Clinton supporter.
On a blog linked to her Web site- www.reynoldsnews.com- Reynolds said in a February post: "My vote for Hillary in the Maryland primary was my way of saying thank you" to Clinton and her husband for the successes of Bill Clinton's presidency.

Exactly. Seems like both propositions equally valid.

When I first heard the pseudo-conspiracy theory about Hillary engineering the Rev. Wright fiasco I took it for what it is, pure gibberish. Watching Fox last night I was floored when one of the pundits actually argued for that possibility. I could not believe that the media and the pundits were so far in the tank for Obama that they could sit there and espouse this notion with a straight face.
As a measure of how far they’ve fallen in the tank, I’d say they reached the bottom of the barrel.

And so this Hillary operative, knowing that Wright would sink Obama’s ship, arranged for his appearance in front of the national press. Brilliant!
And they say Rove is good....

Is this news story just spin from Obama’s campaign or evidence of a typical Clinton dirty trick using Minister Farrakhan um. Reverend Jeremiah Wright?
It stinks either way.
And the raving Marxist Reverend Wright can shove his racial radicalism you know where.

IMO... Wright’s speech for the NAACP thugs was just as damaging.

It won’t matter. Hillary’s campaign will buy a million copies for free distribution.

I read the blog post you linked, and I have to say that is about the dumbest analysis I've seen of the whole ordeal. Wright coming out on his "speaking tour" is the worst thing possible for Obama, because a) it revives a controversy that had passed, with much help from the press, before it peaked. It would be like saying Bill bringing up Hillary's sniper fire all over again was somehow good for her. But that pales in comparison to the Reverend Wright sequel. And b) because no one can, after watching 20 minutes of Jeremiah Wright, possibly believe now that Barack Obama say for 20 years in his church not knowing what this guy was all about. Wright made it very clear in his speech what his congregation is all about. Blaming whitey, and blaming America is the core of his ministry. That was on full display and was not lost on anyone.
Reverend Wright blew Obama's cover in front on the national press corps, and not only did he do that, but he told everyone that Obama was just a politician, saying whatever he needs to say to get elected. One can assume that if Obama's public distancing of himself from Wright was just words, then it was also just words when he claimed he didn't know what Reverend Wright was all about. It was just worlds when he said he didn't share Reverend Wright's views.

On the other hand, Bill Moyers’ invitation to Reverend Wright was intended to rehabilitate both Wright and Obama’s candidacy.

Or, perhaps these last few days has been all about Barack...letting Wright go unfettered and unhinged in order to give Obama the opportunity for a clean and definitive, morally outraged break...just before Indiana. Maybe we will see that break, what should have occurred years ago, now.
If it is, then the overall question still begs to be answered. Why did it take so long? Why did it have to go this far?
The answer is clear. Obama went to this church, fed at this trough, drank deeply at this well because it is what he believes. Now he has to seperate himself purely for political expediency...but it does not change the man and still points terribly towards his judgement and character.
