Operation Chaos: Why Rush Limbaugh Was Right
Useless Knowledge Magazine ^ | May 3, 2008 | Fred Paxson

Posted on 05/04/2008 5:52:35 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

The world's most listened-to talk radio host, Rush Limbaugh (over 30 million regular listeners) has developed a program known as "Operation Chaos." This program is designed to get conservatives, Republicans and others to register as Democrats and cross over to vote in primary states, to keep the contest going up until the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado. Many feel that "Operation Chaos" has helped to keep Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY), the former First Lady and wife of former President William "Bill" Clinton, in the race against the neophyte candidate Senator Barack Hussein Obama (D-IL). With Senator Clinton still in the running, pressure has mounted on the Democrat's so-called "Super Delegates" (mostly elected officials and other poo-bahs) to choose between Senators Obama and Clinton.

Details on Senator Obama's relationship with his controversial, racist and anti-American pastor of 20 years, Jeremiah Wright, his friendship and work with former Weather Underground terrorist and communist Bill Ayers, and his shady dealings with financier Tony Rezko would not have become an issue without Mrs. Clinton staying in the race. Similarly, Mrs. Clinton's lies about her Bosnia trip and other gaffes would have not become well known without Limbaugh's campaign.

Some feel that Limbaugh's "Operation Chaos" merely makes it more likely that Senator Clinton will be the nominee and defeat the presumptive GOP nominee, Senator John McCain, Vietnam hero and former POW. I don't agree: At this point, I feel that the American public is beginning to see that both Obama and Hillary are fatally flawed and not deserving of the White House. Senator McCain, with all his weaknesses and contradictions, is head and shoulders above a man two years out of the state legislature and a conniving, lying shrew that reminds many men of their ex-wife.

Neither Clinton nor Obama spent a day in uniform, and neither has any real-world executive, foreign policy or administrative experience. No, when the rubber hits the road, the American people will make the right choice, and Mr. Limbaugh helped make that happen.

All Americans should feel grateful that he used his "bully pulpit" to expose the Democrats for the unpatriotic, socialist, tax & spend leftists that they truly are. If you're like me and can remember the disasterous Carter administration, you know that we cannot afford another far-left president like that!

Guam should have been a blow out for him.

No, the 'American people' won't make the right choice. They elected draft-dodger Clintoon over war-hero Dole and will do the same thing wrt McCain.

It's all about getting Hillary elected. Limbag is merely useful.

Rush has a genuine and verifiable public record, going back decades, of materially advancing the cause of principled conservatism.

His ever-present pack of noisy little online detractors, yapping ineffectually at his heels... does not.

Advantage: RUSH. ;)

I hate listening to the conservative commentators. I find them preachy. I can think for myself thank you very much. I disagree with this whole “Operation Chaos” business and I think it would have been a good idea to let Hillary go down when she was about to. Kill the beast when you have the chance, because you might not get another.

Obama would be EASY to beat in the general. Hillary I’m not so sure. In any case, McCain *should* win. I’m not saying that’s a good thing, he is just the least bad of the available choices.

I cannot stand the Idea of those 2 commie klintons anywhere near the white house again. if it was ANYBODY other than the hildabeast I’d be on board with Rush on this. the fact that she is still around with a chance (small I agree) for the democRAT nomination and the presidency pisses me off. I hope to hell this does not backfire on El Rushbo.

God forbid, but a lot of people would be really upset if hillary became POTUS and they thought that rush revived her nomination campaign when she was almost dead and buried.

in that event, the golden microphone would be talkin to a lot less people i'm afraid

I totally agree with Rush that anything that creates problems for Democrats is a good thing.

I think it is fairly apparent the Republican candidate will spend as much time denouncing conservatives as he does trying to defeat Democrats...iow, he won’t fight hard against the libs. So someone has to do that.

I think Rush is taking too much credit. It isn’t the Republican crossover vote which is making the Hillary/Obama contest such a struggle.

On the other hand, I like the publicity as a form of payback. I think that Democratic crossover voters influenced the success of McCain in some of the closer GOP primaries.

I must split a hair here. The "American People" did not elect Traitor Clinton. He was elected by the Electoral College courtesy of Ross Perot splitting the vote...twice.

This general election there is no Ross Perot. I do not know what the "American People" will do. But they will have a clean cut choice.

Assuming that without Operation Chaos Obama can beat Hillary, what would make you think Hillary is the better candidate for the democRats? That's the purpose of the primaries: to let the candidates fight it out and have the fittest one come out on top.

She doesn’t just “have a chance.” Barring a heart attack she will be the nominee and that is whether or not Rush had said anything at all. All the Operation Chaos antics have done is bring both Democrats’ negatives to the visible surface. Actual vote results show that as many Republican crossovers voted for Hussein as voted for the Clintons. It is a wash in that department. The Rush ballyhoo does taint the Clintons for Democrats because the far lefties will feel that the Republicans have foisted a Republican choice on them. The Clintons own too many secrets and work too much like old-time Sicilians not to get the nomination.

I think this was a good move by Rush. As mentioned, all kinds of things are now coming out against Hillary and Obama, but had the race ended back in March, the dems would just be after McCain.

And remember how “important” military service was four years ago, when JFnKerry bragged about his three months, and the three flesh wounds he obtained in Vietnam? Why is no one talking about military service anymore?

RUSH: Why are any of you afraid of this ditz?

RUSH:...Let me play for you what I thought was the most interesting aspect of the interview last night. Those of you watched it may disagree, but it is this exchange that they had about oil prices. O'Reilly said, "Oil prices. You want us to suspend the federal gas tax. So does McCain. Obama doesn't. But when I hear that, I say, 'It's the same old politician stuff because the Democrat Party was opposed, is opposed to ANWR drilling.' You voted against nuclear energy seven times. And I'm saying to myself, 'Both parties, both parties have sold the folks out on energy, when the folks are getting hammered and they should be angry at both parties.' Where am I going wrong?"

HILLARY: Well, here's what I think. I think there's plenty of blame to go around. We're not acting like Americans, Bill. We're not in charge, and I want to put us back in charge. I also want to take on OPEC. You know, OPEC is a cartel, it's a monopoly.

O'REILLY: You want to take them on?

HILLARY: Yes.

O'REILLY: They don't care what you say. They're in Saudi Arabia and Venezuela.

HILLARY: Nine of the 13 biggest oil producing companies that are in OPEC are also members of the WTO. I would file complaints. I would also change the laws so that citizens and businesses could file anti-trust actions. We're going to begin to hold them accountable.

RUSH: What the hell is she talking about? Why are any of you afraid of this ditz? Did you just hear what she said her plan of action is to bring down oil prices? Lawsuits! Against bin al-Weid Taliban Asheed Sahib Skyhook. Do you what bin Talawad Kalabi Asid Sahib Skyhook is going to do when he sees Mrs. Clinton's lawsuit at the World Trade Organization? He's going to make a paper airplane out of it and send it back over here on one of his Airbus A380s. This is how they want to fight terrorism: with lawsuits! OPEC is not a monopoly. There are many oil producing companies that are not part of OPEC. This is incompetence on parade.

Obama is an empty suit, and everyone knows it. Even my guests from Germany know it, and they don’t know much about US politics. Hillary actually has positions, and history. Obama is an unknown...plus, there’s the obvious race issue. I think Obama would turn away more voters (defect than he’d gain from the “groundswell”.

As I understand it, Operation Chaos has as it's goal prolonging the Democrat primary campaign for as long as possible, with the potential of a disastrous convention in August, which would leave little time for them to congeal before November.

During this time, Democrats will also be spending their wads attacking each other, instead of attacking (and defining) McCain, and the MSM will be similarly preoccupied, while McCain is free to do whatever he can to make his case and to raise funds.

The premise also has to do with the hope that enough Republicans will stop whining about McCain for long enough to defeat either Hillary OR Obama, no matter who is nominated by the Democrats.

While unconvinced when this all began, I now find myself in agreement with Rush (who probably understands that political culture in the USA far better than anybody). Furthermore, even the MSM is grudgingly reporting evidence that these objectives are being fulfilled.

Nothing succeeds like success.

As far as Democratic crossover voters influenced the success of McCain in some of the closer GOP primaries. I have too agree they did...if conservatives voted, the outcome would have been different for McCain

Watching that happen twice made it crystal-clear to me.

Same thing happened w/ Bush and Nader, twice.
