RALEIGH, NC -- Hillary Clinton may not have reached the end of her presidential campaign last night, but the end is now surely within staggering distance.
(snip)
CLINTON IS UNLIKELY to drop out eminently, because she is a Clinton. But last night's Hillary showed a lot less fight than the one who came out swinging after the victory in Pennsylvania.
Bill, who did a marathon of nine events on Monday in North Carolina to no avail, could be seen behind Hillary, wearing defeat all over his face.
She'll still fight for Florida and Michigan to be seated, and make the pitch to superdelegates that only she can win the big important states, but Obama will quietly inch closer to the nomination in the coming weeks.

Anything covering up a significant portion of that unfortunate mug is, by definition, dearer and more valuable than rubies. ;)
She blinked.
R.I.P.
Maybe she will drop out imminently then.
“...wearing defeat all over his face.”
Nice turn of phrase. Almost makes up for “eminently”.
Pictures, I need pictures!
>> Obama will quietly inch closer to the nomination in the coming weeks.
That’s cool. He can be beaten like a drum.
I just hope it takes MONTHS (not weeks) — as in, until the Denver riots oops I mean the Dem convention.
I want to see that picture.
I was surprised, as well, when she said that. Stark admission of defeat. Wonder if she'll run for the Senate again? Could this really be the end of the Clintons?
She is not through by a long shot.
The DemocRAT convention is going to look like Atlanta right after Billy Sherman's visit.
Pelosi farrrrrr outranks her already. Hillary remains a junior senator with a custom made seat. Mickey Mouse running as a Dem in NY could have won her seat.
Thats cool. He can be beaten like a drum.
Considering the youth vote, the lesser of two evils vote, the I’ve had it with the Republicans vote, the too old vote, the black vote, the anyone but a republican vote, the loyal democrat vote, the left wing vote, the principled Republican vote, the female vote, etc, etc, etc, I am not quite as confident in his beatability. It is McCain’s to lose, and yet, we must not forget, the nomination is still up for grabs.
So how could the Clintons' be waiting for something to come out about Obama that will de-rail him when his background tracks with the Clintons' background?
His positions? The same as the Clintons. Though the Clintons' Isflamist (what they say is flam) connections are really evident here vis-a-vis the "war on terror" for example. Do you even have a position on the war, Hillary?
I am sure all this has been said before. It's the crux of the matter.
The only real difference is race and Obama's apparent popularity among Islamists -- neither of which the Clintons will touch.
Flippin’ genius, yep, Hilde really should drop out so Barack can start the negative ad carpet bombing earlier...
Someone should write their Thesis on this highly insightful article....
The babe in the second row must have turned him down.
“The DemocRAT convention is going to look like Atlanta right after Billy Sherman’s visit.”
I don’t see white racist females rioting if hillary doesn’t get the nomination. Most likely they’ll stay home and sulk in a box of chocolates in front of a soap opera on TV. The chance of a sherman style march across the rat landscape was more likely if the muslim Marxist had been robbed by hillary.
My feeling now is that the rat convention will resemble a combination of a 1930’s brown shirt rally in a beer hall and a KKK cross burning.
Entertaining, yes, but no riots. The rat racists - there’s so many it’s hard to keep track without a scorecard - will save the riots for the November election, win or lose.
I will believe it once I hear the words from her mouth in a very public announcement...no letters...no spokesman...just Hillary....onstage with all the cameras running from around the world...with Bubba and Chelesa by her side....
I still think that Hillary will take this all of the way to the bitterest of bitter ends, win or lose.
