Yesterday, I received a letter from Tim Morgan, the RNC Treasurer, asking for a donation. I was disgusted by the tone of the letter and decided to respond to him.
Dear Mr. Morgan,
I am insulted and offended by your letter. How dare you try to insinuate that I abandoned the Republican Party.
Please understand the facts, it was not me who abandoned the Republican Party, it was the leadership that abandoned the core principles of the Republican Party.
Your letter asks for a donation because you want to stop the Democrats. Thats not a convincing argument.
First let me know what the leadership stands for and then Ill decide if I want to donate. Also:
I absolutely and completely reject all of your arguments that say we need to put President Ronald Reagan behind us. It was President Reagan who actually believed in our core principles, ran on them, and enacted them.
Help me out here Mr. Morgan. Why should I give the RNC any of my hard earned money, and I dont have a lot of it.
Please explain to me why there is no one from the Republican Party talking about our core principles.
What do you actually believe in.
Until you can address my questions and concerns you will continue to not hear from me.
If you have the courage and want to contact me, feel free and do so.
All the best,
I love it. At the risk of plagiarism, can I copy and paste it onto my own response to the RNC?
Softy.
Did you use that handy postpaid envelope they insist on sending with each of their intimidating funding requests?
Hope someone there reads what you wrote. Mrs. Tick and I have been sending them similar all year. We never get anything back from them except new funding “requests” and veiled threats to somehow “cancel” us, whatever that means! “Your membership is expiring”. Yeah. Riiiight.
They said that?!
concerning one of your points:
i believe it was rep rahm emanuel (dem il) who came up with the idea
of running conservative democrats in rural and small town america.
I was thinking of sending them the excrement sandwich they expect me to eat come November but there are probably laws against that sort of political statement.
Republicans will take our money but won’t stand up for us and our principles. Giving money to the Republicans is a waste.
Wow, makes me wish they still sent me their crap so I could respond like you did. They stopped wasting their postage long ago though, after I started scrawling CLOSE THE BORDERS!! in rude black Sharpie all over their silly little surveys. With no check enclosed.
Good job. I had one hack tell me on the phone that I was arrogant. What I told him can’t be posted on FR. At least now we have an understanding.
The RNC is getting so concerned about a lack of fund raising, they are sending out photos of President Bush with their fund-raising solicitation letters.
Mine is still on my dining room table where it remains unopened.
There are millions more who think as you on this one.
I see this on-line quite frequently.
I hear it darn near everyday on the radio.
I see it frequently on the TV.
When oh when are the idiot leaders of the GOP going to get that through their think heads. We The People of the Republican party do not want Dem-Light (now with extra feelings and less facts) we want extra-strength conservative.
But I wonder, what grass root Republicans are willing to do to grow the Party with good, ethical conservatives? We are in trouble and must do more to improve. I don't have an answer, but maybe you and some of the others do.
We are like those mules who, keeping their eyes forward and vigilant, circle up when the coyote comes and kick like crazy - at each other.
Nice. I agree with you, but some folks think we need to just suck it up and support the nominee. Granted, the Obamination and his racist shrew of a wife is hard to take, but I’m tired of voting for the lesser evil of two evils. It’s a pretty safe bet McCain will screw us over again and again. I can’t endorse that with my vote (and I even voted for Dole).
Our “leaders” simply don’t share the same principles as most of the base. Perhaps they were in Washington too long, got used to being the minority, or were replaced by pod people. Who knows? Whatever happened, the amnesty-loving, earmark spending liberals currently posing as Republicans need to be put out to pasture.
I have decided to give all of my campaign money to the NRA. That way I know it will help Republicans and those Republicans will KNOW where the help came from.
They’re asking for a serious right flank maneuver out of their base, if not in ‘08, in ‘12.
Wow! I’m impressed. Thank you for writing my letter. Sounds like something I would have written.
The arguments are so simplistic: "Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama want to liberalize America!" And they will if I don't send them $100.
We're getting liberalized no matter who wins, bub. Why should I plow money into a disaster?
