Democrats who may vote McCain
The Chicago Daily Herald ^ | May 10, 2008 | Ed and Linda Colaprete

Posted on 05/11/2008 8:15:01 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

We are part of the many Democrats that will definitely vote for John McCain if Barack Obama wins the Democratic nomination to run for president.

We would love to have our economy and national image restored to at least what it was during the Clinton years of presidency, but Barack Obama is not the answer.

Obama speaks politics and not what he believes. He only says what he must to win.

Actions speak louder than words. He does not respect America -- won't wear a flag on his lapel, won't put his hand over his heart during the pledge of allegiance and has been associated with some unsavory figures.

Where does his vast campaign money come from? One can only imagine. Hillary Clinton had to add to her campaign with her own money, which shows strength of character and determination in being what she believes and knows this country needs.

Do we vote for a president with a Rhodes Scholar influence or a president with prejudice and radical issues pressuring and surrounding him?

Although, John McCain is a Republican, he has some Democratic supporters and is almost like an independent.

He knows the mistakes President Bush has made and, I believe, he also has what it takes to recover from the worst presidency of our lifetime.

We would prefer to have the Democrats back in office, but not with Barack Obama as president. We will support Hillary Clinton and if that's not possible, then our votes will go for John McCain.

Our belief and hearts desire is to have a Democrat as president. So please help me to influence the remaining superdelegates in the remaining states to vote for Hillary Clinton.

There are more Democrats who will vote McCain than there are Republicans who will vote Obama.

The question is- how many Republicans will vote for McCain, and how many dead, illegal and non-existent people will vote for Obama?

We must wait for the WVa and KY elections to really get a feeling for the trend, but right now it appears White Male Dhimmicrats and perhaps Senior Citizens and the normally reliably Dhimmicratic Jewish vote.

So ill conceived it's astonishing.

I don't think I've ever actually heard a Republican say they voted for the ticket because of the VP pick.
Has anyone here really heard such a claim?

The ones who have their heads stuck in the abortion rabbit hole will be awaiting the VP pick. THe immigration fetishists will be voting for Paul or Barr.

McNut's got some tough sledding.

I wouldn’t. After all McQueeg has a history of doing whatever the hell he wants. Only an idiot would believe that his VP choice would have even the slightest influence on McCain policy.

This sentence is not written in English.

No, I meant that if he were to pick a very liberal idiot, then his chances are much slimmer. At his age, the VP slot means something.

He knows the mistakes President Bush has made and, I believe, he also has what it takes to recover from the worst presidency of our lifetime.

Oh, I thought Nixon was the worst president in lifetime?
Oh wait, I thought Reagan was the worst president in our lifetime?
Oh wait again, I thought Bush I was the worst president in our lifetime?

Oh the confusion!

"The question is- how many Republicans will vote for McCain"

Many Republicans will vote for McCain, but few conservatives will.

Yes, but to a Demoncrat that is not a disqualifying characteristic.

There was a reason Reagan chose Bush 41 as his VP, and it was not that they were politically simpatico through the primaries. He chose him to keep the moderate Republicans on board.

You are correct!

The real question is are there enough dis-enfranchised Democrats voting for McCain to replace the dis-enfranchised conservatives who won’t be voting for McCain.

Too bad we don’t have a true Republican Leader, but a Pandering, calculating politician who is mostly concerned with his desire to be President in McCain.

Well you’re going to hear it straight form the horse’s mouth right now. If he picks Huckabee, Graham, Hegel, Lieberman, or any other liberal, I won’t vote for him. It’s hard enough for me to swallow this pill the way it is. Wrapping it in barbed wire with some worse-than-worthless VP will make it impossible.
