Why is it that Republicans are so easily outmaneuvered by Democrats?
Why do Republicans so readily fight among themselves?
Why is it so difficult for Republicans to advance their policy agenda?
Here's why. Having forgotten our roots, modern Republicans can be thrown on the defensive on nearly any issue. Democrats control most of the media, but they also write most of the history books, thereby controlling what even Republican activists think they know about our Grand Old Party.
What we must do is to draw upon the strength and clarity to be found in the GOP's heritage of civil rights achievement. Our heritage... [continued at http://grandoldpartisan.typepad.com]

Listened to John Boehner yesterday on Stephie’s show and all I heard was how the Republicans were going to do everything they could this year to out democrat the democrats. So much for conservative principles.
Zak are you back under a different handle?
“So much for conservative principles.”
You got that right. We need some new blood fast.
Because Republicans have caved on so many conservative principles that its hard to say their not Democrats. If the Republican Party wants to be a majority party ever again, it has got to have meaningful differences with the other party, not be “Dem lite”. Our leaders have become that which they once espoused to oppose.
I was a neighbor to Boehner before I came to my senses and moved out of that gated communtity in West Chester.
He is an empty suit. No personality. A commited career politician from his days at Xavier. He talks a good talk, but like so many of our “republicans” he lacks a spine ... and has only one interest ... his own political power and career.
Another wasted RINO
I’m a conservative first ... we are wher we are because of people like this. Oh I’m sure I’ll be flamed .... he is the republican fair haired boy ... may I remind you of Kennedy/Boehner Edu.
Only when the GOP again returns to being concerned about conservatism of American core principles, America and its citizens, rather than their own personal empowerment and politics, will it ever become a force for the preservation of America. The GOP needs leadership and it needs patriotic dedication — two things TOTALLY lost even before the present administration.
What we’ve got is DOA...
It seems to me that part of the problem is that conservatives,
especially those on this site, are hard working and focused.
We simply are not interested in running for political office.
The liberals have an edge-the candidates they nominate are committed to more government and truly believe that more government interference, more bureaucracy, and so forth can solve our problems many of which are created by liberals. Most conservatives don’t believe that-so we get Democrats lite-Rhinos to run.
Pretty simple:
Enforce the Bill of Rights
Disband all agencies and programs that infringe on personal responsibility, industry, and volition (get the government out of the business of doing business)
Change our onerous tax code into something simple and fair
Reduce government to the constitutional republic the founders intended
Get us the he11 out of the un and move their facility to some third world cesspool and let them play their silly little games off the main stage.
Just a start.
I thought Boehner was an REMF. Thanks for the confirmation.
For all you civilians out there, REMF = Rear Echelon M----r F----r. The Beltway has more REMFs per capita than anyplace in the world.
I just sent back my GOP Census form. It was all bubble answers and a spot for money donations. No place for comments, so I made on where the contribution part was. I basically told them what I do in every letter in send them that I support only specific candidates and will not send them any money while they push and support RINO’s over conservative candidates.
One questions was, do you favor stopping illegal immigration? I answered yes but wrote next to it about their current nominee pushing for amnesty and how he sucks.
I am sure that it will get the same attention the invoice I sent them back in February for my money back will get.
The problem is not the degree of conservatism of our candidates. The problem is that Republican politicians are now more interested in politics than principles. The Republican resurgence started off on the right track but ended up with a bunch of back room wheeler dealers who were more interested in staying in office than in pursuing their policies.
Want to point a few fingers? Tom Delay, for one.
This scene in the Godfather sums up how I feel when hearing Senator Chuck Hagel talk about Iraq.
"You can act like a man! ! What's the matter with you?"
I just got a questionair in the mail and I sent it back saying my $$$ will be going towards the new FALCON Party (www.Falconparty.com) and CONSERVATIVE Republicans. I had it with RINOs.
I think tar & feathers would work better than blood.
The GOP will be grand again when we settle for nothingless than our conservative principles. The Dims are full of hot air. We have nothing to be ashamed of.
The more healthy, curious and innocent children enter our public school system, the more zombies come out the other end. Unless, of course, they have aware and conservative parents ready to negate the indoctrination experiement at every turn. However, I wonder how man parents have survived THEIR education.
