JERUSALEM – White Christians are "make pretend" believers and conservative Christians emulate the people who killed Jesus, according to articles in a controversial magazine run by Sen. Barack Obama's longtime pastor that paint traditional Christianity as false and racist.

Stanley Kurtz, a National Review Online contributor, concluded after reviewing two years of Rev. Jeremiah Wright's Trumpet Magazine that the Trinity United Church of Christ pastor practices a black liberation theology brand of Christianity that "sees his own form of Christianity as profoundly different from Christianity as typically practiced by most American whites and blacks."

I thought "....damn America" couldn't be topped. Now it has.

It’s nice to know that Obama and the rest of his Whiner Family sat in that “church” for years and absorbed the demented ravings of “Pastor” Wright. Obama is obviously qualified to represent the lunatic Liberal DemonRat Party. He should be elected President of Loony Liberal Land for life.

Jerry Wright does a mighty fine impersonation of a Mohammadan.

I don't understand how he could say this.

Jesus Christ is the spotless lamb of God, innocent.

Sinful men murdered him.

The unborn child in the womb, while not spotless, is nevertheless free from evil deed.

People who believe like Obama view them as a "punishment" and murder them - in numbers that dwarf any casualty figures from Iraq.

That nullifies not only BO's ridiculous and inane argument here, but the Left's entire premise about the war. They need to talk about the ignorance- and special interest-driven war that has taken 50 MILLION lives - and stop hiding from it - before they can expect to have even ONE IOTA of credibility on any other war.

There’s not a lot of difference between these ravings and the ravings of white separatists. Interesting.

Yeah, you know, the “garlic noses”, those rich white Europeans “the EYEtalians”. They killed Black Jesus.

This is old news. Nothing that Wright himself didn’t say.

So the whole flipping Black Supremacist church is racist. yep. We’ve known that. Nothing was out of context. It was an inconvenient truth.

Where are the Democrats who stood up for Wright and said he was just telling the TRUTH?

Here is the quote that needs to appear in this thread:

"The black theologian must reject any conception of God which stifles black self-determination by picturing God as a God of all peoples. Either God is identified with the oppressed to the point that their experience becomes God's experience, or God is a God of racism," writes Cone in his defining book, "Black Theology of Liberation."

Unpacking this: According to Cone,

(A) all conceptions of God that include peoples from "every nation and all tribes and peoples and tounges" (Rev. 7:9)

ARE

(B) stifling of black self-determination.

Let's analyze this further by testing it with hypotheticals:

(A) some (all-race inclusive) conceptions of God.

ARE

(B) stifling of black self-determination.

Drawing on our experience, we know this one to be true. However:

(A) not all (all-inclusive) conceptions of God

ARE

(B) stifling of black self-determination.

If this is true, then his statement is false, since ALL A are B and NOT ALL A are B cannot both be valid. Moving from syllogism to paradigm, can we think of any churches where blacks and whites worship together in harmony?

No, what this gentlemen and those like him have is an inferiority complex which they've come to counter by setting up themselves, by reason of their "victimhood", as a "master race." While is very true that God cares for the oppressed, the widow, the orphan, it is also true that a broken and contrite heart He will not despise. What these folks have is not contrition for their sin, or humility, but its opposite: pride. In short, they are emulating Adam's original sin: wanting to be like God.

They will continue in their unhappiness (and even their poverty, excepting Rev. Wright who profits handsomely from such teaching) as long as they wallow in their victimhood and "poor me"-ism rather than rendering thankful gratitude to a mighty but merciful Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer. The latter would almost certainly bring material blessing as well.

And Jesus said to him, "The foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head."

...and Rev. Wright has a 10,000 sq.ft. house to lay his head. Sure sounds like a follower of Christ to me.

Another contradiction. Obama:

I'm rooted in the Christian tradition. I believe that there are many paths to the same place, and that is a belief that there is a higher power, a belief that we are connected as a people.

Christ:

"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6).

Either A) Obama is ignorant of Christ's words;
B) Obama is a liar, and not really rooted in the Christian Tradition;
C) Obama is truthful about his faith, knows the words of Christ, yet rejects them believing His Christ to be a liar;
D) Obama is a follower of a different Gospel than then one found in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

I'd say he's A,B,C, and D combined.

Let me also point out the fact that Wright says Jesus is one of God’s prophets................ which is totally against what the bible teaches!! Muslims believe Jesus is a prophet.

“Reverend” Wright is not a Christian. He’s a huckster leading his own cult. He gets a pass from the leftists, because he’s their kind of guy.

Black self determination? The truth in terms of Christianity is self determination as an aspect of democracy dies the moment the Lord Jesus Christ sets foot back upon the planet. The Son of God is not a president. He is the King of Kings! It’s the Lord’s way or the highway.

I've got more faith and love in my little finger than he has in his entire racist church.

The funniest part of the Obamanable SnowMan’s attempt to go a snow job on America is that there is a tribe of blacks in Africa who claimed they were really Jews.

Eventually, the Israeli’s did some genetic testing and found that the black Africans were in reality Jews - and that they had genetic markers indicating that they were Cohenim, too boot!

Yep, they were members of the two priestly classes from the time of the Temple.

PS Under the Right of Return, Israel brought them to Israel.

PPS Black Liberation theologians are fortunate, indeed, that Jesus is very unlikely to show up and pass judgement on their “interpretation” of His words.
