I watched “The Crystal Skull” last night and was actually surprised that Indy was portrayed as a Republican, using the Phrase “I like Ike” at one point. Of course Spielberg and Lucas had to get in some anti-Mccarthy digs as well portraying Indy as a victim of an anticommunist witch hunt...

But they go ahead and scare kids with Communists. Life is so unfair. You brutally murder 100,000,000 people and suddenly you're a bad guy...

"What galls is how together with America we defeated Hitler, and how we sympathized when Bin Laden hit them. But they go ahead and scare kids with Communists. These people have no shame," said Viktor Perov, a communist party member in Russia's second city. "The Soviet people have a grand and glorious history, he went on to note. "And we are deeply sorry about the various Purges. And killing millions of our own people, and other people, on the way to our economy falling apart, and the collapse of Communism. Oh, and the gruesome and cruel deaths of the Czars. We were really something before America outspent us, and we couldn't keep up, because of our pathetic, useless, unresponsive command economy. But we have a Five Year Plan that revolves around bitter, sneering remarks at successful Hollywood actors that we think will turn the whole thing around and make us a superpower again in a century or so."
"Harrison Ford and Cate Blanchett (are) second-rate actors, serving as the running dogs of the CIA. We need to deprive these people of the right of entering the country," said another party member, Andrei Gindos.
"Because the first thing on any Hollywood actor's A-List is to visit the scraggly turnip fields of a failing former empire."
"Indians and aliens unite with Jones and his untrustworthy buddies to save the world from a Russian threat - what rubbish, simply a paranoid Churchillian fantasy," Mukhin said.
And exactly how far to you have to live in the past so that your cultural reference to appear "hip" to the outside world is Churchill? This guy's PC must operate on vacuum tubes.

"What galls is how together with America we defeated Hitler..."Talk about having your historical blinders on...no mention of being allied with Hitler, no mention of your wonderful leader who was the only man on Earth who can actually be termed as "worse than Hitler."
Good to see the Soviet propaganda machine is alive and well, if a little pathetic.

Correct me if I am wrong but didnt the Soviet Union break up and wasnt communism supposedly replaced with another form of Government in Russia? Silly me I guess.
This isn't the Russian government complaining, this is the out-of-power Russian Communist Party whining. Once they had it all, now they have squat.
You should pop some popcorn and enjoy it.

Andrei, you and your Commie buds are as trite as ever. If there ever was a political system that is permanently ensconced in second or even third-ratedness, it's communism. You guys, together with the Nazis and various military juntas, have always been carbuncles on the ass of the body politic.

"Our women don't look like Nazis, but maybe Cate Blanchett was threatened by unemployment, so ... she made this film," Perov said.
No, your women, at least many of those in the Olympics of that era, looked like men.

Not only that, the final scene was completely forced and frankly, stupid. I was wondering if Spielberg lost interest in his own movie at the end, or the screenwriters had amnesia, or they just had better things to do that day than shoot a quality movie scene.
You're assuming that a movie is filmed chronologically.

"The Man in the Hat is Back!" Great movie, saw it last night; Indy hasn't missed a beat,it was just like old times.
The Comunist Russians were indeed the bad guys who got their comeuppance and students on Indy's campus (they used YALE) were holding a rally with anti communist RED signs reading "Better Dead than RED"!
A good time was had by all. Go see it, you won't be disappointed.

“”What galls is how together with America we defeated Hitler, and how we sympathized when Bin Laden hit them. But they go ahead and scare kids with Communists. These people have no shame,” said Viktor Perov, a communist party member in Russia’s second city.”
Their local Commie seems to have forgotten that period of time between 1945 and up into the late 1980’s.

If the commies don’t like it i’m willing to bet there is a good chance that the Democrats don’t like it either.
