The Decemberists, the Indie rock band that opened for Barack Obama's Portland, Ore., rally on Sunday that drew an estimated 75,000, often opens its own shows with the National Anthem of the now-defunct Soviet Union, according to Wikipedia. In its entry on the Decemberists, Wikipedia further explains: "The band's use of the National Anthem of the Soviet Union, as an introduction at many concerts has sparked controversy as it is seen by some as an endorsement of the repressive Soviet system. The name Decembrist refers to an 1825 revolt over the Imperial Russian succession, and is not related to the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917." There is no indication as yet whether the band opened the Obama rally with the Soviet anthem.

It does put a lie to Barry being an appeaser. At least Neville Chamberlain loved Britain and thought what he was doing was best for his country.
What’s funny is that this band, who seems to have a fascination/admiration for communist Russia, probably wouldn’t be allowed to play most of their stuff in a totalitarian regime.
Except that Marx was a major admirer and wrote of them in 1848...certainly they were "related." The Decemberists weren't communist, if that's what the author meant. Nor was Marx a Bolshevik.
> this multi-posted thread is really grasping at straws
I don’t think so.
This is an emerging pattern.
The Che Guevera flag at an Obama campaign HQ
The refusal to wear a flag on his lapel.
Refusal to hold his hand over his heart during the National Anthem.
“Rev.” Jeremiah Wright
Billy Ayers
And now an openly pro-communist band at his biggest rally.
These are all WAY TOO MUCH to be mere coincidences.
It's easy to pretend to be Socialist...hell, it's chic and vogue and in fashion. But, when you live under it, when you see its effects, you will turn Capitalist very quickly, especially after the first toilet paper shortage.

Not at all strange.
Most leftists would gladly give up all their freedoms for the “security” of the Nanny state.
It gets worse. The Wikipedia entry for the Decemberists was edited by someone AFTER the band opened for Obama who claimed, and I paraphrase, that the song is not about the Bolshevik revolution. Who added this information, (still noted by Wiki editors as “uncited”) and why did they think they needed to do this right after the band opened for Obama? Talk about a memory hole. This kind of manipulation is straight out of Stalin’s playbook.
"Special Guest Performance by: Colin Meloy, Chris Funk, Jenny Conlee, Nate Query, and John Moen"
Now why would you list the band members by name instead of the name of the band?
Not completely true...
Most leftists would give up all YOUR freedoms for the security of tne nanny state..You see, they all believe they will be exempt from the restrictions of the nanny state, because they are superior to you.
re:hillary, bill, obama, ted k et. al. They impose laws to which they are not bound, but you and all the lowly masses are.
Is anyone surprised that he is comfortable with marxists?
Obama is a crypto communist. We are signing our death warrants if he is elected. The gulags will come next.

Another coincidence you left out:
Raila Odinga is Obama's cousin.

Both belong to the same Kenyan tribe. He was educated in communist E. Germany, and his father, Oginga Odinga led the communist opposition during the Cold War.
