Hey China is 99.99% Chinese.

China has a lot of different ethnic tribes as does most of Asia. They may all look alike to you but they know otherwise.

And India is almost exclusively Caucasoid. Yet they are classified as "Asian" when you look at American racial make up.

And there is no such thing racially as "Hispanic". They are either Caucasoid, Mongoloid or Negroids.

Race is either as broad or as narrow as it needs to be to prove whatever point someone is trying to make.

Assuming for a moment that you are the descendant of slaves brought to America, do you wish that your ancestors had not been brought here, and that you had been born instead in Ghana, Sierra Leone or Nigeria?

Here are some suggestions and organizations.

I would suggest coastal states, you're going to need access to deep water harbors for trade and travel.

Anything landlocked severely restricts ones options.

Having a border with Canada/mexico isn't going to be nearly as useful for a regional alliance trying to survive during wartime.

There are many considerations. High on my list is not living on an ethnic fault line. If we ever go “tribal,” it will be very ugly to be in a mixed area.

Water is also a big concern. Scratch Los Angeles, Phoenix, etc. Without imported water arriving from far far away, they are Mad Max in a month.

The ability to grow food locally is also important, if the transportation infrastructure collapses, and the local Safeway is not restocked.

Also, I keep hearing about "the terrorist monks in Tibet" from my Chinese speaking wife who watches a lot of Chinese TV. Quite amusing to mention to my liberal friends. She is particularly disdainful of "the terrorist leader, the Dali Lama".

The last thing America needs is Balkanization along ethnic/racial lines. We conservatives need to make sure that America is divided along philosophical lines, and to that end, we need to pound home how the socialist ideals of the Democrats are just a cover for the plantation ideals of the elitists, “We know what’s best for you”.

In understand your point, but I think you are wrong. I read Tom Chittum's book "Civil War II" about a decade ago. It was so brutal in its outlook I rejected it at the time. But, still, the concepts were there and watching the news I slowly came to appreciate his point.

Briefly, his thesis is that all large, external power projecting political entities made up of diverse groups are defacto empires. Nations, on the other hand, tend to be very homogonous and inward focused. Nations can survive almost anything, sharing a common language, culture, history and religion. Think of Poland surviving being taken over and invaded continuously for 400 years. Empires, on the other hand, are inherently unstable. Groups are set against groups, usually by the leaders for their own political gain. (A pretty good explanation of affirmative action.)

When multi-ethnic societies come apart, no matter the initial cause, it usually ends up quickly going to the Lowest Common Denominator, race, religion or ethnic group.

Iraq is a perfect example. While somewhat united by hatred of the Evil Saddam once he was deposed the Sunni vs. Shia vs. Kurd battles quickly errupted.

Ditto in Yugoslavia where the country broke up and even very multicultural cities like Sarajevo were forced into a particular ethnic ownership, and exile of everyone else enforced.

As the husband of an asian woman and father of some wonderful mixed race kids it gives me no pleasure to point this out, but any serious conflagration in the USA is likely to take place along racial lines.

In fact, in the USA the only serious sustained challenge to state authority, the cascading race riots of the 1960s, was explicitly race-based. So was our most recent mini-rebellion, the Rodney King riots.

I certainly agree that we should keep pounding home the horror of the collectivist nanny state in the meantime though.

And a great many of them believe (or must believe out of pride) that the USA and its white people exploited and stole all their affluence from poor nations, and except for that the poor nations would be the affluent.

So, there’s nothing unique about the USA, at least according to many from failed societies. We just stole it all and they’re gonna take it back, as is their right.

Or they’ll just turn parts of the USA into what they left behind.

actually, I don’t. But its hard for me to hear people talking about this so-called oneness that has never really existed in this country (racially). I love this country and the opportunity it has given me, but you’d have to be a real dummy to think that this “oneness” extended to ALL peoples at its founding. To be fair, I think your 11M to 16M comparison is a bit off. Things aren’t quite that bad. That 16M is the tail end of the Boomers. Their offspring by and large are that baby boom echo generations now in their teens. The 11M you are pointing to I think more fairly are the echo of the ‘baby bust’ that came after the boomers. Table 8 seems to show an overall growth of nonhispanic white population of 1.6% between 2000 and 2006.

Yes, we are probably a bit under replacement #’s for nonhispanic white reproduction, though of course some of that increasingly is going into an interracial/ethnic mix.
