Actually China has something like 20 different enthnicities in it. Not all that different to us but then White and Hispanics are not all that different to them.
Same for Japan which which is 99% Japanese

Look, I don't know how good you are at mathematics, but this is simple arithmetic: In a mere 35 years [about one generation for Caucusians], the Caucasian population has collapsed, from 16 million per five year segment, down to 11 million per five year segment.
This is also true of the Asian population, but it is NOT true of the Black or Hispanic populations: THERE IS NO "BABY BOOM" FOR BLACKS OR HISPANICS BECAUSE THEY NEVER STOPPED MAKING BABIES!!!
But back to the arithmetic: If you assume that people live to be about 75 years old, so that there are 15 five year segments in the population [15 X 5 = 75], then the long term Caucasian population should have been trending towards

First, most Hispanics are classified as whites. If you read the link I provided, you will see that whites will still be 72% of the population by 2050 declining from the present 80%.
Yes, the decline in the white birthrate has had a big impact, but our immigration policy of admitting 1.2 million people a year has had a bigger impact on the demographics of this country than anything else. Our current fertility rate is 2.1, which is just at replacement level. However our annual population growth rate is .89%, the highest in the developed world. Our pro-population growth immigration policy is the reason why we will be a nation of half a billion people in less than 50 years and why we have added 100 million since 1970.

The reason that people don't realize this yet is because it takes another 40 or 50 years for a top heavy population to retire and die off - but when the old people do begin to retire and die off, and when there are no children coming along to replace them, then you have a catastrophe.
In the United States, our fiscal day of reckoning is roughly 2020 - at that point, the great mass of Caucasian Boomers will [virtually overnight] go from being massive tax producers to being massive tax consumers, and the whole house of cards is going to collapse, and there will be chaos in the streets - quite literally - I am not being alarmist about this: OUR SOCIETY WILL FALL APART AT THE SEAMS.
The overall percentages are utterly meaningless statistics [although, quite frankly, that 72% figure sounds way high to me, but more on that in a moment].
What matters is the percentage of the population which is of fertile age or of pre-fertile age, and within that fertile [& pre-fertile] population, what their fertility rates are [or will be].
Above about the age of 35 [the age at which almost all women have had almost all the children they are going to have], THE REST OF THE POPULATION IS DEMOGRAPHIC DEAD WEIGHT - in fact, to the extent that the young, fertile population is required to engage in massive wealth transfers to the old, barren population [via e.g. FICA and Medicare], the old barren population is worse than dead weight - for the young fertile people, it's like having their feet set in concrete and being thrown over the side of a boat in the Long Island sound by the [AARP] mafia.

You are something of a drama queen. Population trends can change. We had the baby boomers after WWII. It caused a bubble in the trend line, i.e., a large cohort. According to UN population projections, the world's population is increasing by 57 million annually [the equivalent of the population of Italy] and will continue to do so until at least 2050. Developed countries that have declining populations can import skilled labor thru merit based immigration policies.

In 2020, according to the Bureau of the Census, the US population will be 336 million with 260 million being classified as white [77.6% of the population]. In 2000, the white population was 229 million. The biggest percentage increase in the US population between 2000 and 2020 will be asians who will increase from 11 million to 18 million.
The real danger to our society is the creation of a second underclass, i.e., Hispanics, who have the second highest level of out of wedlock births [45%] compared to 68% for blacks. And Hispanics have the highest school dropout rates with blacks second. The birthrate of Hispanics is twice that of the general population. Combined with immigration, legal and illegal, which is more than 60% Hispanic, the US faces the possibility of a Balkanized society along cultural and linguistic lines. We will not have a population problem.
I suggest you go to the Bureau of the Census site and check out the breakdown of the current population by age group. Yes, we are an aging society, but the median age of the US is still 36.7 years [female 38.1 years] and 20% of the population is under the age of 14.
0-14 years: 20.1% (male 31,257,108/female 29,889,645) 15-64 years: 67.1% (male 101,825,901/female 102,161,823) 65 years and over: 12.7% (male 16,263,255/female 22,426,914) (2008 est.)
The real problem is the entitlement programs with SS going in the red in 2017 and Medicare even sooner. In 1950 there were 16 workeers to every retiree, today 3.3, and in 2030 two to one.

very good post—We are being invaded by Aztecs and Mayans. The Spanish rulers of Mexico and Central America cannot and will not fairly resolve their Indian problems. Instead they send these people north and burden us with them

My concern is what type of culture they will posess as adults (referring to the chart with the under 5 numbers) and whether or not THAT will threaten America. Will they embrace American Patriotism, freedom, capitalism, and values? Or will they embrace corrupt third-world style governance, socialism, and welfare?
Nobody in the large cities has many kids, except for immigrants. Some of these immigrants are patriotic Americans that share our values.
However, I fear that too many are NOT.
