Warner for VP?
Primetime Politics ^ | May 24, | Robert Novak

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Former Virginia Gov. Mark Warner, a strong favorite to be elected to the Senate this year, has told associates that he is being considered as Barack Obama’s vice presidential running mate. He did not indicate whether he would be receptive to such an offer.

Removing Warner from the campaign for the seat now held by retiring Republican Sen. John Warner (no relation) would turn a sure Democratic takeover to a question mark. Mark Warner is heavily favored against the Republican nominee, former Gov. Jim Gilmore, but no substitute Democratic candidate is at hand.

Although no Democratic presidential nominee has carried Virginia since Lyndon B. Johnson in 1964, Democrats see the state as being in play for the 2008 election and would like to see a Virginian on the national ticket. Both current Gov. Tim Kaine and freshman Sen. Jim Webb have been mentioned, but neither possesses Warner’s prestige.

Not a bad idea for Obama. My money is either on a popular former southern governor or Ted Strickland.

Nice news. That way warner gets marked as a loser and we still win Va anyway. But the truth is that by the time the choice is made it will be clear that the “winner” of the rat VP sweepstakes will be a sacrificial lamb. Maybe they'll hook barack mcgovern up with lautenberg. That would help him with Jews and maybe hold New Jersey. That would clear the way for the rat to install rob andrews in his seat. andrews is young and could be there for “byrd like” years.

“Typical White Man” in Obama's eyes... a smart choice if he picks him. Other “smart” ones would be Webb, Vilsak or Bayh. I'm hoping he goes with his heart and picks another socialist female... like Edwards. ;)

Well, that and the fact that this week Webb came out and blamed affirmative action for Obama not getting more of the white vote.

Obama/Bayh would be the emptiest ticket ever assembled.

Obama/Warner would be a formidable combo. Especially if McCain chooses a lightweight like Jindal.

Possibly, but there are skeletons in Warner’s closet. Rumors (based on some pretty strong evidence and reliable sources) say that Hillary had the info and that’s why Marky dropped out of the Presidential race. My understanding is that those with the info are just waiting for the right time.

I was thinking Obama would go with Webb to get the Neanderthal vote.

Obama may make history and break barriers. While Clinton got to be the first black president, Obama has a chance to be the first woman president. He definitely needs to get someone who can bowl better than 37 on the ticket.

“Obama may make history and break barriers.”

It looks like he may have barriers he may never overcome.I talked to a friend of mine in Iowa last night and he said the Wright/Fairykhan revelations have wounded Fauxbama severely with Iowa Rats and he would not get the nomination nor be voted for on the ticket in anyplace. This is from Newsweird.

Why does everyone assume that Gilmore is the GOP nominee?

Oh, that's right, I forgot, the mainstream media always pushes the weaker GOP candidate.

Shame on Bob Novak for this indefensible lie.

They are in for a surprise when Marshall wins next weekend.

Braaack would be making a wise choice if he selected the venerable and sage Robert Byrd as his vice-president. They could be referred to as Jughead and Sheets.

You wish. I was a popular governor. Northern Virginia has turned blue. I'm a shoe-in for Senator.

See that hotty over there? She and her ditzy friends are going to canvas YOUR neighborhood for me. Her message is strategically located. Resistance is futile.
