Does Dunkin Donuts really think its customers could mistake Rachael Ray for a terrorist sympathizer? The Canton-based company has abruptly canceled an ad in which the domestic diva wears a scarf that looks like a keffiyeh, a traditional headdress worn by Arab men. more stories like this
Some observers, including ultra-conservative Fox News commentator Michelle Malkin, were so incensed by the ad that there was even talk of a Dunkin Donuts boycott.
The keffiyeh, for the clueless, is the traditional scarf of Arab men that has come to symbolize murderous Palestinian jihad, Malkin yowls in her syndicated column.
Popularized by Yasser Arafat and a regular adornment of Muslim terrorists appearing in beheading and hostage-taking videos, the apparel has been mainstreamed by both ignorant and not-so-ignorant fashion designers, celebrities, and left-wing icons.
The company at first pooh-poohed the complaints, claiming the black-and-white wrap was not a keffiyeh. But the right-wing drumbeat on the blogosphere continued and by yesterday, Dunkin Donuts decided itd be easier just to yank the ad.

She REALLY grates on my nerves. Every time I see her on tv, I want to smack her.
I really think its kind of silly but I would have dropped her for that bum kissing of Bill Clinton on her yak show.
It made me ill.
As opposed to the ultra-liberal Boston Globe
“The keffiyeh, for the clueless, is the traditional scarf of Arab men..”
It is akin to the “guttrah”, a red and white checkered headscarf worn by Saudi men.
I thought I was the only one-it’s like she’s constantly yelling at you-If I want yelled at I’ll talk to my wife.
Roy Rogers is the only guy who could get away with wearing a scarf.
yowls?
These acts of diversity are beginning to be quite problematic. Frankly, I wouldn’t go near one of those cloths, the type Arafat used to wear, and it really makes me wonder why anyone would.
I don’t think Rachael Ray is trying to show support for terrorists, but by wearing this cloth, she shows an incensitivity that is glaring.
This cloth was Arafat’s signature appearal. I think it’s disgusting that she and Dunken Donuts were this clueless.
I thought she was let go because she has gotten chunky.
What next? Women wouldn’t dare wear a scarf on their heads any more due to the muslim women wearing them. Now this...
What the hell kind of editor let that get through? Thank God the Boston Glob has only two or three more years to live.
Still looks like a scarf to me.
I don’t think it looks like a keffiyeh, but it *does* look as if it got caught in the agitator of a washing machine during the spin cycle.
It’s just an ugly scarf.
The keffiyeh, for the clueless, is the traditional scarf of Arab men that has come to symbolize murderous Palestinian jihad, Malkin yowls in her syndicated column.
Malkin needs to get a real job. Ban all scarves!!!!!
looks like the knee jerks won.... I feel sorry for the poor woman who chose the wrong day to wear a black and white scarf that clearly wasn’t a keffiyeh.
It’s a scarf, a pretty scarf, nothing more. How do they know those aren’t figures from Rachel’s culture on the scarf, such as Greece?
World full of ignorant, controlling, busy-bodies...paid by Muslims.
