From Arthur Laffer, "Mark my words: If the Democrats succeed in implementing their plan to tax the rich and cut taxes on the middle and lower income earners, this country will experience a fiscal crisis of serious proportions that will last for years and years until a new Harding, Kennedy or Reagan comes along. Trained economists know all of this is true, but they try to rebut the facts nonetheless because they believe it will curry favor with their political benefactors."

Don't bet on it.
She belongs in a Jr. High Home Economics classroom and nowhere near Lansing. How ‘bout Flint, where Michael Moore could have easy access to her and her “story”.
Detroit looks like Beruit. Burned out and destroyed. Nobody wants to be there...they just don’t have the ability to get out.
My in-laws just moved out. They were lifetime Michiganders. Now retired, they just won’t live like that any more.
Oh, there's a way to do this, don't worry about that. It'll happen quickly, after the cold reality shower that's coming. Unfortunately we who live our lives in a reality-connected manner have to take the shower too, but with some preparation the unpleastantness can be minimized. There are even some opportunities lurking in the experience.
It happened after Carter, and it'll happen again. It may take longer this time, especially if McCain is elected.
Hey if a small tax increase didn’t work, a bigger tax increase should not work even BETTER!
“Hey if a small tax increase didnt work, a bigger tax increase should not work even BETTER!”
Ah, the beauty of that is undeniable.
So, she fleeced the citizens some more and drove more potential industry away from Michigan. Nice going, Liberal.
You gotta point. So, they get what they deserve, die on the vine
“... luminaries such as George Will..”
george gets things right about as often as lil dick morris.
luminary???????
Didn't California try to pass a sort of "Exit Tax" for those who were moving away?
As Wesley Snipes, a guy who knows a little about taxes would say...YOU D@MN SKIPPY!
I feel no sympathy for Michigan....in my Rat state, Washington, we've got the same problem......some day, we'll have to move to Idaho...
why Pat Buchannon is on is beyond me....he doesn't even support Pubs....
even Hannity lets a lot of liberals walk all over him ...I sit there screaming at him to respond but he just gives that ship eating grin and schugs his shoulders...
keep Mark Levin on...keep Colter on...anyone who can respond quickly with wit and passion....
but who do we get......
You say, Seriously, I believe this puts Michigan ripe for the picking for the GOP come November. IF, and thats a big if, the voters in Michigan can get their heads out of their collective ass.”
Oh, if only that were true. Sadly, the thousands of people leaving Michigan are working, tax-paying citizens (read more likely to be Pubs) while Jennifer has made welfare more attractive than ever. Run down homes are being upgraded, Medicaid better than ever, welfare homes are being renovated - all at taxpayer expense. In other words welfare people (read Dems) are not going anywhere - their standard of living is only getting better. Hence, Michigan will become the land of Union households and welfare recipients - pure Dem. The Dem party should thank Jennifer for making Michigan more Democrat than ever.
FWIW Genny, you can't raise my income taxes because my company folded up 12/06 and I was fortunate enough to be able to draw my pension which is non-taxable LOL!..........
You say, “The big influencers in Michigan, other than the media of course, are minorities and labor unions.”
Check out the maps after the election. Most of the state voted Pub. Detroit, (welfare & Unions), Ann Arbor, college town - stupid liberal professors) Marquette (college town - stupid liberal professors) and few others voted Dem. The ballot-box stuffing in Detroit alone can steal the election from the rest of the state in much the same way that Milwaukee and Madison can steal an election in Wisconsin.
FWIW, Drolet was my state Rep but was outed due to term limits. He was the best! His successor is some broad named Kim Meltzer who I vote for but she has just thrown in her approval to support the statewide ban on smoking in bars............
Strangely enough, while she supports the state ban on smoking in privately owned bars, she helped draft legislation that would exempt the casinos...........Go figure!
If you would like to be added or dropped from the Michigan ping list, please freepmail me.
Looks like an unusually ping-heavy eve.
