The Soros-McClellan Connection
Little Green Footballs ^ | 5/28/08 | Charles Johnson

Posted on 05/28/2008 8:20:13 PM PDT by Brian Mosely

The hat tip for this post goes to LGF reader John Williams in Texas.

The company that published Scott McClellan’s new Bush-bashing book is Public Affairs Books, and their Editor at Large is a guy named Peter Osnos: About The Century Foundation.

The owner of Public Affairs Books is a company called Perseus Book Group. Here’s their ownership tree: Perseus Books Home.

The firm is owned by Perseus Funds Group, (holding company Perseus LLC) a capital management firm that grew from about $20 million in 1995 to over $2 billion now. Big infusions of cash seemed to help it grow exponentially and it closed funds almost as fast as it opened them. The board has tons of liberals from the Clinton and Carter Administrations with credentials that almost put Osnos’ to shame as far as far left causes go. Their website is here: PERSEUS - merchant bank and private equity fund management.

If you go to the New York Department of State web site and enter “Perseus” in the “Business Organization” search, you get this on page 2 of the results:

In his own words:

What Is an Editor?

Peter Osnos, The Century Foundation, 5/15/2006

The Random House Unabridged Dictionary’s definition of “editor” says: “A person having managerial and sometimes policy-making responsibility for the editorial part of a publishing firm or of a newspaper, magazine or other publication; a person who edits material for publication, films etc.” While technically accurate, this description of an editor’s role misses the point. The job of an editor is, among other things, to prod, shape, wheedle, cajole, mediate, challenge, anticipate, nit-pick, chastise, inspire, support, confront, defend, harangue, and, as required, suggest different words, phrases, or grammar.”

This editor has a long history of left winged political leanings and worked in Russia in the seventies writing glowing reports on the ‘Motherland’ for the Washington Post.....
Go Figure....

It WAS Karen Hughes, Bush’s longtime aide and handler, who picked Mc-Clellan from the Texas Republican political crowd and brought him into then Governor Bush’s political operation. -Vanity Fair Article on page 2 of 6.

Your memory serves you right!

Love to know what Hughes is thinking. Mama Mia!!! ;)

Great job on exposing George $oreA$$ as the financial backer/controller of the publishing whore house, which paid this maggot.

Also, thanks for alerting us and other non Bush Haters about: Peter Osnos, The Century Foundation, 5/15/2006, the $oreA$$ commy editor.

A lot of us were not surprised about the Scott/$oreA$$ connection.

A lot of us will not be surprised when/if a connection of Scott with the gay world comes out.

Can anyone else detect the stench of blackmail and extortion as well as a lot of money with Scott’s actions here.

Thanks! You just made my day a little less gloomy! My mood is pretty dark today.

I see these people as pure evil!

And no..blackmail, extortion and greed in the mix would not surprise me either at this point.

I will not feel any sorrow when I hear of soros sorry azz passing away. That is one anti-American dirtbag I will be glad to see buried.

First I would need to see a stake through what passes for his heart, myself.

Imagine if we didn’t have the internet, Free Republic, Rush and Sean to help expose the pure evil that oozes out of $oreA$$ controlled puppets!

Then we would all be gloomy.

You did a great job in finding the dots and making the connections.

We are living in great times when bs like this can be expose in hours and basically neutralized in the real world.

The unreal world of the MSM will run with this with no real impact as their unreal world continues crash down around them because of their support of bs like this.

Here is another great graphic art by Phil Dragoo, to add a little humor to the situation.

Scottie will want to beamed up to the Gay Mother ship before this is over.

McClellan comes from a Democratic family in Texas. His father was a lawyer with LBJ's personal law firm, IIRC.

I would doubt that this is as big a part of the story as you people are making it out to be.

His father, Barr McClellan, did work as a young lawyer for the Austin, TX based law firm headed by Ed Clark, who was possibly LBJ's most trusted confidant. But the elder McClellan was a junior guy there, and was not really part of the inner circle at the firm. He eventually left the firm after a dispute with Clark, suspecting from the buzz there that there was nefarious business going on between the firm and LBJ for many years.

Barr McClellan made a splash in 2003 with the publication of the book "Blood, Money and Power", which made a strong argument for LBJ's involvement in plotting the JFK assassination. It also links LBJ to a couple of previous politically motivated murders. IIRC, it is based on McClellan's personal experiences with Clark's firm and extensive independent research by the author. It so happened that his son Scott was Bush WH press secretary at the time his father's book came out. When asked about it, Scott simply declined comment.

Yes, Barr McClellan was a Democrat back in the 60s and early 70s, but so was just about anyone who was anybody in the state of Texas at the time. I wouldn't be certain that he's still a Democrat today, in view of his experiences with Clark and with LBJ himself in the latter's final days. BTW, Barr McClellen now lives in Mississippi.

In the meantime, Scott McClellan has been reported to be estranged from his father for quite some time. His parents divorced many years ago, and Scott's mother once held an appointed position in Texas state government under a GOP state administration. So I believe his mother is a Republican.

In other words, she's a political whore.

There were mass party affiliation switches in Texas during that era, which is the main reason why Texas went from solidly Democrat in the 1970s to solidly GOP today.

Most did it because the 'Rats had moved too far to the left. So one shouldn't be too quick to insult an individual because he or she converted to the GOP.

Speaking of the McClellan family, I just read on another thread that Scott's brother, once a commissioner of the FDA in the Bush Administration is now a fellow at the left-leaning Brookings Institute. I find that even more shocking than anything in his father's or mother's background.

Not unusual. Dick Cheney’s domestic policy advisor, Ceasar Conda went to work for a Soros Organization when he left.

Sure you knew this:

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2008/05/obamas_unique_appeasement_styl.html

Snip:

Peter Osnos, Obama’s former publisher told the Times that Obama’s meteoric rise to the pinnacle of politics is due in large part to his gift as a storyteller. In his words, “It’s almost all based on these two books, two books not based on a job of prodigious research or risking one’s life as a reporter in Iraq. He has written about himself. Being able to take your own life story and turn it into this incredibly lucrative franchise, it’s a stunning fact.”
