Beautiful weather for a somber weekend of remembrance. The wind was blow enough to unfurl our flags that so many have died defending, Rolling Thunder was in D.C., our Legionnaires were placing flags at local cemeteries, and in Olney we had a good number of patriots to show our military that Americans still love them.
The roll call of our 13 Patriots included local Jan, Legionnaire Bill (Army - see his story below), Lurker Bill, Cindy_True_Supporter, Eager and his 2 boys, Fraxinus, Kburi, Sensei Ern, VictoryNY, {Mrs} Trooprally, aka [Mrs] T, and myself, [Mr] T.
Pics are by [Mrs] T.
Legionnaire Bill was in the Army. He was working as a mailman at the time and delivered his own draft notice. Bill was on his way to Vietnam when he was diverted to Korea because of the attack and capture of the USS Pueblo in 1968. While no actual combat other than the initial attack occurred, those who responded to the action received combat ribbons and received VFW status. Bill was assigned to a canine detail.
Our local, Jan, saw Bill on the corner with us and stopped by. She knew Bill and stopped only to chat for a little. Jan soon grabbed a sign and stood with us for about 45 minutes. Her husband is a Vietnam Vet.
BELOW LEFT: Lurker Bill under our Big Flag. We had to tie the flag back since the PVC pole was bending too much in the brisk wind. BELOW RIGHT: Our Big Flag almost engulfing VictoryNY before we tied it back. And of course she had her own flag in hand.
.
BELOW LEFT: Eager and his two boys waving their flags. BELOW RIGHT: Legionnaire Bill, Jan and Cindy_True_Supporter.
BELOW LEFT: Kburi, Fraxinus and me. BELOW RIGHT: Fraxinus always wears an interesting shirt.
BELOW LEFT: Eager and Cindy_True_Supporter. BELOW RIGHT: VictoryNY, me, Cindy_True_Supporter, and Kburis shadow behind Cindy_True_Supporter.
And [Mrs] T got some great shots of passing cars and Rolling Thunder. She even has our Big Flag reflecting on some of the car windows.

WEATHER UPDATES HERE.
[Mr] & [Mrs] T
I notice the POW/MIA flag in the pictures and saw it here locally as well, presumably in an ‘official’ celebration.
Now back when I was young, that flag was something of a disgrace when it was flown because it represented the men we left behind in Vietnam when Nixon refused to make war reparations (about 4B, IIRC). Now however, it seems to be a flag of ‘honor’.
What’s up w/ that? I would think we would be terribly embarrassed over the fact that we leave men behind every time we fight.
Just beautiful!
[Mr] T
And the way the native Hawaiians are going, we may have to bring back the old 49 star flag. Unless we use B. Hussein Obama’s count of 57 states, then the count will be 56.
Must be that new math.
[Mr] T
Wow are the pictures clear and the reds have never been brighter!
Thank you all for being there.
cindy...you look really happy and so good in RED!
fraxinus...glad to see you are still collecting the GREAT shirts.
The reds have something to do with the sunny day and the patriotism shown this day.
Counting down the days when you’ll be joining us.
[Mr] T
The major function of Rolling Thunder®, Inc. is to publicize POW-MIA issues: To educate the public that many American prisoners of war were left behind after all previous wars and to help correct the past and to protect future veterans from being left behind should they become prisoners of war-missing in action.
We are also committed to helping American veterans from all wars.
Rolling Thunder®, Inc. is a non-profit organization. Members donate their time because they believe in the issues we are working on.
I believe during their Memorial Weekend gathering, when they talk to the president, they bring up the POW/MIA issue.
If there is still a question, I suggest you contact them.

Very nice report [Mr] T and crisp, clear pictures by [Mrs] T which show off the flags and all the red, white and blue. Always enjoy the pictures of the passengers in vehicles appreciating your efforts. More kids! They are cute and good supporters. Way to go, Olney Gang!
Thanks for all you do.
Its a reminder to our political leaders that they are a bunch of inept backstabbing jerkoffs when it comes to our military and we will not rest or stop flying that flag until every single American Service man or woman lost in conflict is accounted for.
That I understand the original intent should have been clear from the post but to reiterate more clearly; I think your intentions have been co-opted or diluted by the passage of time.
It is the 'inept, backstabbing, jerkoff political leaders' who are flying it. It has lost its original meaning.
That was my point.
Your point displays only how YOU feel.
Enjoy yourself.
I’ll fly the flag.
I can see that you’re the sharpest tool in the shed.
Enjoy yourself.
