Dukakis was a great speaker: Bush not so good. Soaring speeches about nothing usually result in nothing. You see the transparent Obama. I think in time the rest of America will too.
CNN panelists talking about how Shrillary’s in-your-face speech has pissed off a lot of the Obama campaign — she didn’t speak graciously, she made the case for HER as the #1 candidate even now, on the night that should be ‘his’ night.... SHE is in his face, claiming that she is still the more electable presidential candidate. She may have doomed any chance of a joint ticket?

Well, I agree with your assesment. Unfortunately, the nation as a whole has far less obsession with substance than they did in 1980 and are willing to worship a hollow image more easily (at least in my estimation).
I hope you are right, though. I truly hope there are enough people who care about substance in this country to keep this guy from winning because, (and this was the intended crux of my OP) if this guy can win with all of his emptiness, then he can “sell” horrendous policy with hollow promises. That’s what makes him dangerous.
