All 3 candidates have live speeches planned tonight- incoming results from the LAST (can you believe it) of the Dem primaries- it seemed a live thread was called for!
Indeed, dearm the enemy and that means take away the Obamination’s propaganda and MoveOn garbage.
Say what you want about McCain, but right now, he is laying a smackdown on Fauxbama and his policies.
That little under the breath chuckle before his line “that’s not change....” makes him sound deranged.
Obviously not. He is about as inspiring as watching the grass grow...
The only President he can bash is the current one.

I can’t stand watching or listening to McCain. My hubby is in another room and I just heard some big groans come out of there. oops, now he says, “he is so embarrasing”.

I think that his arguments against Obama are very strong and will stick. Even better, they are going to really get under Obama’s skin and draw a reaction.
I put MSNBC on just to see Matthews spit and drool over McCain’s “attacks” on Obama. Him and Oolbermann are pure poliical theatre...they just interrupted the speech to announce that Obama is “officially” the nominee.
Jees, any excuse to cut away from a Republican. I think Matthews is crying over the hisotorical event tht is taking place...and I quote “a change in our planet”!!!!!

Re McCain dissing Bush....
....today Rush launched into a wonderful invective on McCain. I love when Rush lets it all out.
One thing Rush warned McCain about, and Rush was very, very serious, is he warned McCain not to go beating on his party’s President.
Rush went on, and I agreed with every word, that while Bush has low approval, he’s now a lame duck and locked in a war that, like all long wars, is very unpopular. But the Republican base, and many Democrats save those with BDS, do not HATE George Dubya Bush.
Rush is right. We don’t hate Bush. He’s an affable guy and if ever President got it all thrown at him, it’s Bush. Us idiots out here in la-la land who carry this country on its back whilst raising the citizens and soldiers of tomorrow understand this.
Rush warned that if McCain should lambaste this President over Katrina, when McCain has to know that ninty percent of any failure was due to state and local, that McCain could never hope to regain the respect of the Republican base.
So far McCain’s been pretty good. He doesn’t seem to be attacking Bush real bad but we’ll see.

Furthermore- the crowd sounds as fake as McCain does- remember “canned laughter” on tv? That’s what this crowd reminds me of. I can almost see the little signs popping up- “BOO NOW” “ROAR WITH APPROVAL NOW” “LOL NOW”

I feel the same way. Had to quit watching and come here to FR. I will be voting for McCain in November, but whenever I watch him speak I get ill enough to think about not voting at all. Just can’t let Obama in the White House so it is best I don’t watch McCain in order to be able to make myself give him my vote in November. Even though I know it won’t happen, my favorite dream these days is that the delegates at the Republican convention dumped McCain and drafted someone else as the nominee.
I think this is a politically expedient speech and will serve him well in the General.
