The presumptive Democratic nominee for president needs to be more careful in his use of statistics. If he is going to blame Lou Dobbs and Rush Limbaugh for "ginning up" hate crimes against Hispanics, he needs solid data to back up his allegation. The hate crimes statistics that he threw around at a fundraiser in Florida are wildly inaccurate--and a subsequent modified claim provided by his campaign was also off the mark.

In short, Obama pulled statistics out of nowhere when he blamed Rush Limbaugh and Lou Dobbs for the now-debunked "doubling" in anti-Latino hate crimes.

The author notes that this is not the first time Obama cites bogus numbers (he said 1000 people had died in a Kansas tornado which took 12 lives).

Well, considering the rapid rise in the number of illegal aliens in our country, I suppose that there might be some basis to that.

But then again, how does he define "hate crimes?" Do they include verbal assaults?

I'd like to hear him cite, just once, the statistics pertaining to the increase in crimes committed by illegal aliens.

All in all, another example of fuzzy thinking,combined with race-baiting.
