SFChron: Obama is a 'Rare Kind of Attuned Being,' a 'Lightworker'
Newsbusters.org ^ | 6/6/08 | Warner Todd Huston

Well, I have come to the conclusion that Mark Morford of the San Francisco Chronicle just threw away the last tiny shred of credibility he might have had left by dreamily imagining that Barack Obama is so omniscient, so "ethereal" and so messiah-like that he isn't a "normal" human being. Maybe Mark thinks he might be an alien from another planet, some trans-dimensional traveler, or maybe an angel come down in human form to lead us sheep into the promised land? I'm not exaggerating either. In his latest piece he calls Obama a "Rare Kind of Attuned Being," a "Lightworker," he says he is "ethereal" and "magical" -- hello Rush Limbaugh -- and feels that Obama is "not really one of us" in the "normal way." Morford and those who feel like him have lost all touch with reality and the sickness is spreading.

I think that columnist Morford is off his medication, or maybe he's just drunk, or perhaps he fell on his head recently? Or perhaps Shirley MacLaine came down off the mothership and stole Mark's computer... something freaky is going on there in San Francisco, anyway. Or maybe what makes me think something weird is in the air out there is just that Morford's latest editorial is one of the most amazing examples of the wild eyed ranting of the most whacked out Obamessiah believers yet to show up in print instead of just on the nutrooter blogs. Instead of appearing in a purportedly legitimate newspaper, this is the fodder for the fantasy land of a Coast to Coast with George Noory. Instead of serious political discussion, this sort of thing belongs on Jerry Springer.

But get ready to see this sort of insane euphoria spread as Obamessiah dons his no lapel flag vestments and deigns to appear before the people who love him unconditionally, uncritically, and uninformed of anything he really stands for.

I won't bore you with his whole, nutty piece, but here are just some of the lowlights of Morford's slavish devotion to the political Svengali that is Barack Obama.

Have you lost your lunch yet? Well, you may not have lost your lunch, but this pseudo religious tripe may be proof that Morford has lost his sanity!

Naturally, Morford had to revel a bit in his Bush Derangement Syndrome and regurgitated several slams against Bush, but the real message of this rambling little editorial was in this one little segment nestled deep in Morford's ranting.

(not coweringly religious, mind you, but deeply spiritual)

And there you have it. Like most extremists, leftists Morford pretends to stand against religion when all the while he is looking for something man made to replace it. Acting as if he is too smart, too cool for superstitious religion, Morford replaces centuries old teachings with this whacked out, new agie, childishness in this case built on a mere politician. But, even as he creates his newfangled religion, like all leftists, he has to attack everyone else who subscribes to a real religion. He must belittle, degrade and ridicule religious people everywhere.

Of course, Morford realizes how silly he sounds to be as starstruck as a 13 year-old girl that is infatuated with the latest rock-n-roll boy band. He even gets so defensive about it he preemptively calls everyone one who will look at him askance all sorts of names.

This is what I find myself offering up more and more in response to the whiners and the frowners and to those with broken or sadly dysfunctional karmic antennae - or no antennae at all - to all those who just don't understand and maybe even actively recoil against all this chatter about Obama's aura and feel and MLK/JFK-like vibe.

I see, so if you don't "get" the Obamessiah fever you are "sadly dysfunctional"? It seems to me that Morford is working himself up to consider "unbelievers" in the same way Torquemada did in the 15th century! Is Morford too far from burning Obama deniers at the stake?

This sort of unrealistic, deification of Barack Obama is the sort of thing that can easily propel him into the White House. It is also the sort of thing that can cause people to imagine his presidency to have been, in hindsight, a bitter disappointment. What sane person cannot realize the expectations for an Obamessiah are simply impossible for Barack to live up to?

You think Clinton's years in office were retrospectively considered the most wasted opportunity in a life time? Wait until a president Obamessiah turns the big White House key over to a Republican to hear the lamentations of the faithful begin to ring out. The "bitterness" will likely be unbearable.

So, I have an idea. Let's defeat Obamessiah and forego all the gnashing of teeth and wearing of sackcloth that will surely be the result of an Obama presidency!

And if Mark Morford has a nervous breakdown because of it all... well, I don't know about you, but I am willing to risk that happening.

Ah yes, Mr. Obama scores the coveted Mark Morford endorsement...

I guess that should help sew up the bathhouse vote...

Yes. We actually haven’t had a Ms. Morford column posted in quite a while. Direct postings are much more fun than those filtered through NewsBusters.

This is a phenomenon that is particularly non-local. Obama is a Psychic Vampire who feeds off the energy of the crowds drawn to offer themselves as fodder to him. Plato would say that he causes the Aether to become unbalanced. Yoda would call it a “disturbance in the force.” Living Colour would call it a “Cult of Personality.”

Several years ago, when the primaries were being held in Illinois for the Senatorial election, I heard a talk show host, Jay Marvin state that he was going to vote for Barack Obama. Despite the fact that I had absolutely no idea who the guy was, I was overcome with apprehension and a distinct physical chill.

I thought the danger would lie dormant in Washington for a few more years.

I was wrong.

You are not the only ones who experience physical revulsion at the sight of him. My wife, a woman of impeccable instinct felt it before even knowing that he was a Democrat!

“Lightworker” has become a catchphrase of the New Age movement. In reality it's someone who wants desperately to feel superior to you, but hasn't got a real job. That's the benign form that it takes - filling in a void with pseudospiritual blather and a sense of self-righteousness.

Obama is something else, however. He is the embodiment of the malignant and malevolent side of the New Age.

“These people are counterfeit apostles, dishonest workers disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. There is nothing astonishing in this; even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.” 2 Corinthians 11, 13-14.

Satan's original name of course, was Lucifer, from the Latin "Lux" (light) and "ifer" (bearer.) There are almost more references to this phenomenon in scripture than can be counted.

(Curious aside. When I spell checked this post, it flagged the word "self-righteousness" and the only alternative offered was "sulfurousness.")

>I avoid all news shows now just to minimize the risk that I’ll have to look at him.<

Wow. I thought I was the only one who did that. I don’t even want to think of his winning or even be reminded that he could.

I don’t get physically ill though. Just a real bad vibe.

LOL!

I had never heard the term "Lightworker" before. You're absolutely right, it is a but a tiny concept shift from that to Lucifer. Underneath all of those rays of golden light is a really ugly lust for power.

You are not the only one who feels the way you do.

I can’t stand his voice, his so-called “charming, hypnotic” voice. It’s instantly muted.

I don’t think he is the AC, but his fruits don’t show he is Christian, either.

Morford.......Many spiritually advanced people I know (not coweringly religious, mind you, but deeply spiritual) identify Obama as a Lightworker, that rare kind of attuned being who has the ability to lead us not merely to new foreign policies or health care plans or whatnot, but who can actually help usher in a new way of being on the planet, of relating and connecting and engaging with this bizarre earthly experiment. These kinds of people actually help us evolve. They are philosophers and peacemakers of a very high order, and they speak not just to reason or emotion, but to the soul.

Whom they speak of is the "Lord Maitreya"

Lord Maitreya means Lord of Love. Lord Maitreya has held the office of World Teacher in the Hierarchy; He assumed the office of the Buddha on January 1, 1956, but still holds a connection and a certain action with His former position. The Master Kuthumi and Jesus have jointly assumed this office. Maitreya has been known through the centuries as the Great Initiator, under the old or occult law. He represented the Cosmic Christ to mankind of Earth which was a similar action to the individual as that of his own Christ Self. This was necessary because mankind had gotten into so much discord and density that their own Christ Selves no longer responded or acted in that respect or degree in the outer self. Therefore, the Great Initiator represented and acted for the Christ Self of an individual on the Path to a certain extent. That is why it was necessary for Jesus’ manifestation of the Christ in/through a physical body. This plan was so designed beforehand, as being the best way to convince or/and leave an example of the Christ Action for the con-sciousness of mankind who were not comprehending be-yond the world of form. Lord Maitreya was not an incarnation of Jesus (They are two separate lifestreams). He enfolded Jesus in His Cosmic Flame and thereby manifested the Christ Consciousness through Jesus’ form. He likewise enfolded Saint Patrick, another individual in a physical body. Now that the Cosmic Light is flooding the Earth and its atmosphere It (the Cosmic Light) acts as the Initiator to mankind. There is more and more expansion of the individual’s own light as the Cosmic Light increases. Finally when mankind and the Earth have been cleansed of all impurities the inner bodies (emotional, mental and etheric) and the atmosphere of Earth will become all light, and the individual’s own Christ Self will again take full command of the outer self. Lord Maitreya came to Earth from Venus as a guar-dian. He knew His greatest light in embodiment in the East with Lord Himalaya. He has a Focus in the Himalayan Mountains. He has violet eyes and golden hair. His keynote is “Ah! Sweet Mystery of Life,” by Victor Herbert. He usually wears a white robe. Lord Maitreya anchored a ray from the realms of light into New York City and one into Los Angeles on October 8, 1937, to hold a balance in America on the east and west coasts of the United States for the incoming age. He now holds the position as the Buddha; He carries out the activities of ceremonies to relieve Lord Gautama as much as possible, since His inclination is not along that line.

"Hidden Dangers of the Rainbow: The New Age Movement and Our Coming Age of Barbarism" by Constance Cumbey was a book I read many years ago and Morford article reminded me of it with their fawning adoration of Obama.

The anti God left has been waiting for an "Obama" for a long time to fill that Messiah yearning that will fix their broken world.

I think I will reread the book

Yep. I was wondering if anyone was going to point out the “lightworker” - “Lucifer” - “Angel of light” connection.

This isn’t the first time I’ve seen this “lightworker” babble coming from the “new agers” in connection to Obama either.

It’s amazing how many people feel a sense of foreboding when they see or hear him. I keep trying to tell myself that my revulsion for this man lies in knowing that he’s a marxist swaddled in a nice suit, but I know Hillary is a marxist, and I never felt anything but dislike and scorn for her and Billy. I know it’s not some subconscious “fear” coming out of me, being ‘ascared’ of a black man being the president, because I’d be proud and thrilled to vote for a black conservative (any conservative!)if a viable candidate ever came along.

There is definitely something “different” about this guy, and it doesn’t feel good to me.

And no “reverend” Jackson, we can’t add another chapter to the end of the bible. Sorry, the good guy wins. End of story. No need for an Obama epilogue.

Look at Obama’s supposed “Christian” reverends too. One takes the name of the Lord in vain from the pulpit, and the other “reverend” thinks Obama’s story needs it’s own chapter in the bible. Nice blasphemous “Christian” reverends you have backing your campaign, Mr. Hussein.

Obama claimns that he’s a Christian, but makes fun of Christians as being backward hicks that aren’t voting for him simply because they’re too racist, and his “preacher” breaks commandments from the pulpit. Yeah Osama, forgive me for EVER having the audacity to question your true faith. What the hell was I thinking?

.
