Blue State Voters Can Place Blame for High Gas Prices on Themselves

Red Planet on the Money Will $13 a gallon gasoline change voters' minds in Blue States? [Click on images to enlarge them.]

Strangling supply

If the voters in Blue, Democrat-controlled states are looking for a culprit for high gas prices, they may look no further than in the mirror. Their representatives in Congress continue to strangle the oil supply--by ruling most of the USA off-limits for drilling.

This artificial restriction by the Dem-controlled Congress is a great subject of two great Red Planet Cartoons.

The subject: why the Dem-controlled Congress' posturing on the environment is costing every driver, every energy-user in the USA more money.

RPC starts with the cartoon above and adds some interesting notes from Investor's Business Daily:

Uncle Sam bans states from drilling in the Atlantic, Pacific and eastern Gulf mainly to protect the environment. Some 85% of the U.S. coastline is off-limits to energy production — including huge reserves off Florida’s coast, which China is exploiting in Cuban waters.

To change that, a lawmaker is offering a novel idea. Rep. Sue Myrick of the House Energy and Commerce panel wants to let coastal states decide whether drilling is environmentally risky. She has introduced a bill that would give coastal states that want offshore drilling the power to opt out of the Interior Department’s offshore restrictions…

Please, as long as GW Bush is in office he will be the lightning rod for any and all problems. If McCain gets elected he's next on the roof, if it's Obama the it'll be the House Minority leader or whatever prominent Republican they can find. With a complicit media no one is paying attention to the role of Congress or environmental lobbyists. It boils my blood that so many people are ill informed.

They can, but they won’t. The fault will always be on GWB, Cheney and Halliburton in their eyes.

People who are ill-informed like it that way. Alexander Pope, I believe it was, said “ignorance is bliss!”

Yes, thet do like it that way. I just wish that in their blissful state they would shut the *$@% up and let more competent people do the work. If they want to free-load on my hard work, well that’s civilization for you.

I was not aware the the Democrats have controlled Congress for the last 20 years.

But thankfully, the GOP has nominated a man for President who has always voted to open up ANWR to oil exploration.

/sarcasm

The Majority of the “NO ZONE” on your map does not contain oil and thus would not be a good place to drill.

This post needs to be sent to EVERY voter in this country. This will win the election in the fall for the Republicans. This is their way back to majority. Have the guts to do this. We will sink anyway if we don’t do something dramatic like this. The MSM won’t talk about this. This has to be the work of the RNC to ALL the people. Folks, this one is a no-brainer. People are sick and tired of this Demcrat blame Republicans game when they are the ones who are stopping the drilling and exploration. More supply means lower prices.

Well obviously that’s true.
Drilling will only be where the oil is.
What;s wrong with that?

The Pubbies should be pounding the Dems every day about this. I wrote to McCain and told him that if he would change his view on ANWR and domestic drilling, he would win in a landslide. Think he’ll take my advice? No, I don’t think so either.
