...Democrat presidential nominee Barack Obama could get up to 40 percent of the evangelical vote.

It's possible, but I thought only 20% of the evangelical vote was brain dead. Learn something new every day.

Good website post. Most people don’t connect Obama with radical black-hater Margaret Sanger’s philosophy. Good point.

If they are pro-abortion Jew haters, Obama has a lock on their vote.

I doubt their numbers are 40%.

Why would an evangelical vote for Obama...an abortion supporter , Homosexual supporter, a man who only joined a church for political reason, to find out that that after 20 years that his pastors hate of America was not a plus to his being elected?

One would have to be very "well connected" indeed to be able to foretell how people are going to vote.

Or deluded.

What is with all the anonymous sources? An anonymous source can and will say anything.

Any evangelical that votes for a man that endorses abortion up to 9 months needs to have their asses kicked.

I predict that Angelina Jolie and Catherine Zeta Jones are on their way to my house with some baby oil and a six pack of Michelob.

Dude, that is funny! I'm having a hard time explaining to my almost 3 year old what was making me laugh so hard.

Has anyone bothered to read the article? The evangelical vote is up for grabs mainly because of McCain's indifference and/or hostility towards them.

The fascination with the charismatic Illinois senator combined with evangelicals’ effort to not be seen as an appendage of the Republican Party could swing evangelical voters in Obama’s favor, predicted Mark DeMoss – a prominent public relations executive whose clients include Focus on the Family, Franklin Graham, and Campus Crusade for Christ – to Beliefnet.com.

and

On McCain’s part, he hasn’t done much to reach out to DeMoss either. DeMoss said he has received one phone call from a McCain staffer about a month ago asking if he would like to help campaign for McCain. But the evangelical leader, who had enthusiastically campaigned for former presidential candidate Mitt Romney, turned down the invitation.

If they vote for Obama, they’re not evangelical.

It seems “evangelical’ means different things to different people. I always felt it meant Bible believing, social conservative Christians wanting to spread the Good News. That would mean no Evangelical would consider voting for Obama.

I heard this yesterday, on tv. My guess is that this is another push to put Huckabee, the huckster on the ticket.
