Across the street from the Yankee Clubhouse store on 59th Street in Manhattan, Laura Ingraham accepted Talkers magazines Woman of the Year award Saturday night.
Author of The Hillary Trap, Ingraham gave a very different speech than the most talked about speech of the day, Hillary Clintons concession speech in Washington and endorsement of Barack Obama.
Ingraham thanked Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Don Imus, for three, among others, for giving her her start and encouraging her dreams of the going on air with a daily rollicking ride through politics and culture.
Ingraham conceded nothing but endorsed taking stock.

What is a "Yankee Clubhouse?" Are those the metrosexuals who are more likely to visit a Pottery Barn than a World Series this year?
Laura looks as beautiful as ever.
I'm hardly metrosexual. I'm more menopausalsexual. And have a brave man. A tired man. A man who will go to pottery barn if I agree to give him the night off.....
Pottery is good, but not THAT good.
I can't recall the name of that grayhaired guy who's hugging her, but he makes my flesh crawl when he talks on the TV!
If you are female. I certainly hope you aren’t metrosexual since it a term for males. LOL.
Laura has a great show. One of the funniest.
I believe it is Ellis Henican - he is from N.O. and is one of those people who was born on third and thought he hit a triple.
menopausalsexual is truly a female state. A dangerous one. Metrosexuality ain’t got nothing on menopausalsexualality. We eat them for breakfast whilst having hot flashes and cooking spaghetti and drinking ice water with our hormone meds.
She is so absolutely beautiful.
Huh?
Out of context, that heading is pretty meaningless.
In context when I read the article, it seemed to mean that Laura gives not an inch to critics of conservative talk radio, while at the same time she suggests to talk radio hosts that it’s good to take stock of yourself even if you’re successful.
That’s a nice piece and nice sentiments expressed by Laura. I particularly liked her mention of Reagan’s advice on her last day on staff at the White House where I guess she interned.
One of Reagan’s keys to success was his time doing the GE “mashed potato” circuit, being spokesman for GE and promoting pro-US, pro-capitalism ideas. He was part of an effort to “move the population” in favor of these ideas before union elections — and he became a master at it. This was the same strategy Reagan employed following his time in Sacramento and prior to his two bids for the White House.
This “spreading of ideas” is what conservative talk-radio and the internet does through blogs and places like NRO.
Congrats to Laura for her success and for her following Reagan’s recommendations.
Don't know who the lucky hanger-on is....
It's simply a store selling Yankees paraphenalia, from jerseys to hats to coffee cups.
Two thumbs up!

Author of The Hillary Trap, Ingraham gave a very different speech than the most talked about speech of the day, Hillary Clintons concession speech in Washington and endorsement of Barack Obama.

Ingraham conceded nothing but endorsed taking stock.
Instead of reveling in the identity politics such an award invites, this top-five ranked nationally syndicated host, challenged those men and women present largely folks who make a living talking to make sure they know what they are talking about in life.
Ingraham quoted Margaret Thatcher on success; Success is having a flair for the thing that you are doing; knowing that is not enough you have got to have hard work and a sense of purpose.
Anyone who listens knows Ingraham has the flair. Her purpose goes way beyond advocating conservative ideas, this movement conservative declared. She views her audience as her extended family, with whom she has shared big ups and big downs. Recently, shes found purpose in the eyes of a three-year-old beautiful girl shes adopted from an orphanage in Guatemala news she couldnt wait to share with her beloved audience, who she is very protective of.
We are here for a very short period of time, Ingraham, a cancer survivor, said. As talkers talk about the fleeting news of the day, she asked her colleagues, Do you ever think about what you are leaving behind?
We are having an important conversation with our audiences about politics and life. We must, she said, quoting Ronald Reagans advice to her on her last day as a young staffer in the White House, make it matter. Ingraham said, Im going to make it matter for as long as Im on the air.
Congratulations to Laura and thanks for the reminder to all of those of us who comment on the fleeting news of the day!
Laura isn’t doing her talk radio again today. I wonder what is up with that? I know some think she is going to be on Fox permanently but I just can’t see her giving up her talk radio show.
This year anyone associated with the Yankees is more likely to visit a Pottery Barn than the World Series.
