He thinks he did. He said he’s gonna regulate CEO earnings and make oil companies share their profits.

*groan*

McCain is an idiot.

I just saw a vid of Obama stating he wishes that gas prices would not have risen so quickly. I saw it on Brit Hume’s show. Does anyone have this video?

For the first time in six months I agree with Johnh McCain.

Here is a link to the Dept of Energy’s inventory figures (released today). Please note that if you scroll down you will see that the crude oil inventory a year ago was 349.5 million barrels...the crude oil inventory today is 302.5. That represents a 14% inventory reduction in one year. Thats the information driving the oil speculators.

McCain has no energy policy in the face of the highest gas/diesel prices in American history.

Earth to McCain!

Support drilling, Support less red tape for new refineries, Support new nuclear power plants.

The dummy probably won’t and we will get Obama.

What happened to the “straight talk express”?!?
If he was a straight talker he’d say his global warming legislation would guarantee ever rising gas prices that would cripple our economy.
That’s straight talk!! He’s just a lying RINO.

I can’t call him a coward because he went through things that I can’t even imagine. So I’ll say he’s being power hungry and deceptive with this talk about gas prices!!!

Although the GOP presidential candidate didn't address the question of raising taxes on oil companies, he said the companies "absolutely" should return some profits to consumers. "And they should be embarking on research and development that will pay off in reducing our dependence on foreign oil," he said.

No more "research and development" is required to drill in ANWR. Just DRILL! Oh, that's right. They can't because YOU said they couldn't!

"The point is, oil companies have got to be more participatory in alternate energy, in sharing their profits in a variety of ways, and there is very strong and justifiable emotion about their profits," McCain said.

No, Johnny. That isn't the point. The point is that you and the incompetents in Congress have done everything to limit supply domestically. Quit whining about profits and let the oil companies do what they are in business to do--DRILL. After 26 years in the Senate, YOU are part of the problem--not the solution.

"Justifiable emotion"? Sheesh!

You and all the posters above you are correct. McCain reminds me of LBJ. I’ve had enough of bad choices; I’m voting for Bob Barr.

So why doesn’t he just set gas prices too?

He has no problem mandating 'green' technology, either.

[Recall the interview on This Week, where he advocated even more mandates for 'green' technology. He said they [mandates] would not cost the taxpayers, but would increase corporate profits.]

Shut up McCain, you could care less, since you don’t want to drill in ANWAR.

For the first time in six months I agree with Johnh McCain.

Are you serious?!? This guy is saying that there isn't any oil out there, thus oil companies have to "share" their profits with the world to create alternative energy resources.

There's oil out there. There's lots of oil out there. He just doesn't want us to have any because he thinks oil is destroying the planet.

Sorry but that's a big load of RINO crap!!!

I'll give you a plan for lowering the price of oil: first strengthen the dollar, which would make the price of oil drop right now! second: drill everywhere on the planet. That would give us more oil then we could use. Problem solved. That simple.

"The point is, oil companies have got to be more participatory in alternate energy, in sharing their profits in a variety of ways, and there is very strong and justifiable emotion about their profits," McCain said.

Oh wow. That sounds great. We get to share the profits of oil companies. Next, maybe, we get to share Walmart and department store chains' profits. Then, grocery chains. Next, Wall Street.

Just keep those checks rolling in.

Too bad he didn’t have anything to say about how he intends to make removal of government impediments to increasing energy supplies a priority from day one of his administration. Does he really think scapegoating the oil companies is a good strategy?

He just doesn't want us to have any because he thinks oil is destroying the planet.

Oh, it's worse than that, he doesn't even really think that. I doubt he's ever stopped and thought it through and came to a conclusion either way. He just thinks he's gonna be liked by the idiots across the aisle if he portends to believe this crap and go against what is perceived as the Conservative Republican stance. Makes him a real maverick, don't ya know?

The guy's got as serious a case of Stockholm Syndrome as I have ever seen.
